Well both my plan and my back-up plan fell through today so all I managed to do was go for a walk at sunset to catch the storm coming in. If it does not rain all day tomorrow I intend to make it over to B&H for some Prime lens shopping.
-
Yeah the weight isa concern. I do not have any of the big primes at the moment so the 100-400 is my biggest zoom. I could take the 70-200 with the extender and probably have everything I need I just wanted to get used to the 100-400 as I have rarely used it since buying it a few years ago and thought it would be nice at the track.

Got all the gear packed up for a short road trip tomorrow to Bear Mountain State Park so I can do some shooting to get familiar with the 50d before trying to shoot the Rolex Grand Prix race on Memorial Day at Lime Rock Park. Been a while since I did any nature/landscape shooting so I am trying to decide on the lenses. I think the 100-400L, 24-70L and the 135L will go and maybe the 17-40L for vistas but that is probably overkill with the 24-70. I almost need a suitcase to carry all the glass.

Is your wireless router set up for both B & G bands? That can sometimes cause problems. My Internet runs really slow when I have the router set that way.

The new Netflix update allows you to pass video through the VGA output so you can use it with your TV.

It sounds like all your apps are synced to another computer that you were syncing to when you bought the apps. Much like music and movies, if you plug into another computer it will either let you keep the stuff on the iPhone or just wipe it all out and put whatever is on the computer onto the iPhone. If the computer is also on the same network you should be able to move stuff back and forth but if you added all the apps on an old computer that you do not have anymore I think it is more difficult.

Spent the morning at B&H. I have not been there since they opened up the whole second floor and dedicated it to Photography. I could spend a lot of money on the second floor there. Ended up getting a Gitzo 1780 tripod head, 2x16gb SanDisk Extreme CF cards and a bunch of generic BP-511A batteries.

Thanks Gene, all shots were taken with the 17-40L and the silhouette was taken with it wide open and metered off of the cloud-shrouded sun.

My biggest problem with the Jack Spade bags are that everyone and their dog has one in NYC. The subway is full of the messenger laptop bag. I have the Green and Orange one and a Black and Blue one.
-
My Jack Spade bags have always been durable but kind of useless when trying to compartmentalize stuff I carry daily.

I love the Iraq series Naaman. I took the new 50d for a walk in my neighborhood this morning. Skyline Silhouette WTC Memorial Close up of leave behinds Impromptu Statue/Memorial Piece Unlucky Soldier with a rifle bayonet and rifle hanging out of his back. My disparate next door neighbors

He already knows about it and is trying to come up with which of the heavy ass things we moved into his fourth floor walk-up apartment last weekend he could sell to fund these.

I have around 20gb free on my 64gb with all of my movies on and a small selection of music.

That is why they spent such a short time on my desk before moving on.

Happy Birthday Ari.

I carry this one most days. Not too heavy and is a bit stylish while not out of place in a business situation. Very comfortable shoulder strap. My main complaint is the noise it makes when the metal pieces rub together on the strap and strap mounts. I usually have iPad, Camera, Pico Amp/DACs, Overdrive wifi thingee, Pen, Pencil, keys, crappy Dell laptop, JH13 case and have no problem carrying all. They make a smaller one but I am not sure your files would fit in the smaller bag. Most days I would prefer a Messenger bag and as my Jack Spade is officially worn out I am trying out new messengers. So far the Cole Haan is my favorite. Both bags have newspaper bag sizes that I will probably pick up at some point for the days I only need to carry the iPad.

Definitely would not be my first choice Dinny but I assume the inside has a lot of special pockets for gadgets? How much stuff do you need to carry?

I think Atomic is slightly faster as well. I still can't get the adblock to actually block any ads and the hand gestures seem really weird. I have it set up to bring up favorites when I swipe two fingers up the screen but I usually just make the screen zoom in or scroll up the page at 100 mph when I try it.

Just received them today. Isn't it sooo cute when I dress them all alike?
-
I am currently using Quota. Lots of promise but most of the non-google stuff it syncs with is overseas services.

Heading over to Colin's place for move-in part 2. At some point the table, sofa, bed and dresser that he told me about morphed into everything he has ever owned.
