Some from my walk to the train. Guy looking at himself on the big screen in Times Square Working the ice at Bryant Park. Skaters The crowd was captivated.

Some from GCT this morning.

I never had the original IS but I have heard complaints about muted colors with that lens. This new version is an excellent lens all the way around. The 70-200 non-is was not bad but not in the same league as the new one.
-
I had the 70-200 f4 and found it to be a very sharp lens. These shots are only cropped no processing.

I actually thought the best colors might have been the Rokinon but they were on the verge of being oversaturated. There was really not much difference between the Canon and the Sigma. The Canon has the best Bokeh but really slow focus. Using it as a MF makes for some fantastic shots but I do not think it is better than the Sigma. Some random snap shots with the new 70-200.
-
Weight was certainly part of it but I think the biggest issue was that I had the Sigma before it and could not see the huge upcharge for the red band as the Sigma does pretty well for half the price. I also had the Rokinon 85 f1.4 MF in the house at the same time and was really quite impressed with it though I was not willing to deal with all the work to get the focus confirmation to work and I cannot see doing so much photography with live view at 10x zoom.

Yes it is a 5D mk II. I gave one 5D to my little brother and I am selling the other so I picked up a second mk II with the credit from returning the 85 f1.2 I decided not to keep. I know it is kind of hard to keep up as I really like shiny new things. As an aside, I picked up a BlackRapid RS4 for this camera as B&H did not have the 5. For the extra 10-20 dollars for the RS5 it is a dramatically better strap. The RS4 is pretty sorry for 55 dollars.

Christmas came late but it was worth the wait. Never tried the Canon direct store before so I hope this refurb 5D works out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Picked up the pancake lens for the Sony last night and did some test shots of some dusty old SR-60s at ISO 12,800. Not the best image but somewhat usable for such a high ISO on such a small camera.

I have purchased two 3D TVs but hardly ever use the 3D capabilities. Comcast has quite a bit of 3D content but the 3D TVs are in my bedroom and guest bedroom so I never bother with the glasses. The picture quality does seem to be much better than on the non 3D TV in my living room so it might just be that they are worth it for the occasional ESPN 3D.

Happy Birthday.

Wow, I was not able to check anything until I found a wifi tonight. I ended up winning two and getting third in the other three. The league that disappointed me the most was the one I went undefeated all season and then the first round of playoffs I imploded so a 7-6 team won it all.

Hope it was a great birthday Jacob.

A 1600 ISO sooc shot from the Sony.

Spent my last day in Dallas at the Dallas World Aquarium. Very nice place. Lots of animals and even some Mayan fire dancers.

Some snap shots of the little Sony with the S95. I am not entirely sure at this point that either EVIL is much better than the S95.

Zoom.

So far I like the ergonomics of the Sony much more. Image quality is close using the kit lens for both. Low light capabilities seem to be much better with the Sony as well. Battery life goes to the Olympus.
-
I ordered an adapter for the Sony Nex 5 and the Olympia EP2. Not quite as nice as a Canon system with AF but it will do until they come out with an EVIL. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I carry the ThinkTank bag with some body, lenses, flash and iPad pretty much everywhere. Now that I got these little mirrorless camas for xmas I might start carrying a bit less. The pic of the train coming out of the covered bridge was at 2.8, everything else is wide open. I do not believe I have shot anything but wide open or close to wide open since getting the lens.

Went to an overcrowded mall to pick some stuff up and found a giant model train setup in place. Decided to take some action shots with the 7D and the Kegma. Shooting moving objects with a razor thin focal plane is not easy.

Got guilted into attending a X-mas service by my mom. At least they have a cool pipe organ. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Happy Birthday Ken.

You can push a 5D to 3200 with no problem, I just did not a lot of effort into it as it was a snap shot as I walked to the front door. It was actually on the Gitzo I just shot about 10 at different settings to so if anything came out well enough for my dad to send it out as an E-mail to his farmer want-to-be friends/family.

Yeah, the fact that 3 out of the 4 playoff teams were run by first year teams should be an indicator of what a strong league we could have here and I am hoping the veterans come back next year, if only to keep MD down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
