  2. Moved from the lovely Fairfax Inn to the JW Marriott LA Live. A bit of a change I would have to say. From a 200 sq ft. room with a bathroom and 27" tube television to a 1100 sq ft room with two bathrooms, full kitchen, dining room, living room two 60" plasmas, butler service and TVs in the bathroom mirrors.
  3. What are you talking about Wayne? I thought that was the whole purpose of the weekend. Thanks everyone for the B-Day wishes.
  4. Some snapshots with the Nex-5 from my walk back to the hotel from dinner.
  5. Lil' Mikey looking stylish, ready for his first day of school. Mike and Gene prepare for their walk to the school bus stop. Colin modeling the Airborne C-Ruck in Black with red badge. Not garish at all Fitz. Gene with his Rockhopper in Safari ready to hit the town. Gene's travel basket in Saffron. Colin ready to hit the Castro with his purse and clutch.
  6. Some Model shots to help the uninitiated to understand the size/colors of the Tom Bihn and Red Oxx bags. Young Model Dinny, former child TV star, is modeling his Tom Bihn ID in Black. Colin modeling Vicki's Tri-star and with the backpack straps. Jim modeling the Airboss in Safari while Al looks on wondering what the Hell we are doing. "Oh Bother" Jim giving us a sultry look while modeling his Gator is Safari. Gene showing us his Skytrain on strap. And as a back pack.
  7. Decided to carry the 35 to work today. St. Patricks Weird naked chick riding the chocolate shark in the snow. Atlas' foot

    Lights Out

Anyone else watching this show? I am mostly enjoying it so far. Dark with enough violence to keep me interested. I am hoping it keeps heading in that direction and does not get soft to attract more viewers.
  10. Bit more snow than I expected when I walked outside today. But a snow blower had made a pass. So I had no problem making it into work. Now I get to hear all the stories from my employees telling me how they just happened to have brought home all kinds of work last night so they can miraculously work from home and be productive.
  11. Nice choice Mike. I really like their watches.
  12. What I have found is that once you take out the apparatus that allows the bag to roll it is so much lighter that carrying is not that big of a deal. You also can fit more stuff if you are willing to shoulder a bit more weight. The bags popular in this thread are equipped so as to allow the most comfort possible while carrying a bag around an airport and considerably more comfort than when you have to carry the heavy rolling bag up and down stairs, which is usually when I regret them the most.
  13. Nice shot Falkon, is that the 17-40? Jon L, any daylight samples yet. That particular shot would need some pretty dramatic dynamic range to capture well. I have never used my 35 for that type of shot but have enjoyed it for typical street shots and portraits.
  14. Happy Birthday
  15. Carried the Metro today. With my other bags I have constant troubles with the strap slipping off my shoulders when I wear large coats. The strap did not move at all while walking or trying to read the iPad on the subway. I'm not exactly sure how it works but the strap alone might make this a better carry bag than my typical Tumi Townhouse bag.
  16. That is because the lens no speakee to the camera.
  17. The bottom two are the fisheye. You would think the top one was, but it is the Rokinon. Certainly not distortion free.
  18. Took a pair of UWA with me to work today. Not all that useful as a lens type but they can be fun.
  19. Thanks. I actually ended up downloading PTLens and it works perfectly.
  20. It should be but the scoop on the lens seems to be that in many cases setting it for 1-2 meters accomplishes better infinity focus than setting it to infinity so I spent a lot of time trying to find that sweet spot and gave up before I got it. Set to Infinity I could see in magnified live view that focus was off. If it wasn't such a cheap lens, reportedly capable of proving outstanding results, I would not have bothered but it will be fun to try to figure out I guess.
  21. Maybe a little bit closer to this one. Gitzo
  22. I would recommend if you do find the 600 dollars under a couch cushion that you get another brand's head as I really do not like my Gitzo head. The legs are excellent.
  23. I carry a larger bag than that as my personal item quite often.
  24. Depends on how you pack. The Airboss is a very good bag for the organized packer and the add on of the Metro makes for a secondary laptop bag which will come it handy for business travel. After playing around with the Airborne a bit I think I might use it more as a weekend bag than I will the Airboss and I tend to cram stuff instead of properly packing.
  25. I am trying to find a lens correction profile for Lightroom but the only thing I have found is all in German and I am not sure what to do with it. Tried MF on a distant object at night. Not very easy.
