  1. These and These and these for a Battle Royale for my active office speakers.
  2. Close to making the purchase of one of these as a HP amp/Preamp for my office. Just can't decide between this and a Woo WA-2 for that purpose. I wish I had spent time listening to this at CanJam but the big amp made it hard to listen to anything else in Todd's room.
  3. Sorry to hear this Al. Glad you were all able to be there I am sure that meant a lot.
  4. Of course it is going to be released during my vacation and not right before because that would have been way too easy.
  5. I am hoping that while they held off putting out the new MBAs until Lion was released they made enough so that I can walk into the store and buy one on Thursday.

Very nice. How's the fit and finish on the MKII's? They are great looking divers.
  7. I have liked everything of his I have read to this point.
  8. Happy Birthday Birgir.
  9. Happy Birthday Mike.
  10. Yeah, I only bought them because I thought it was lower than the normal price and I thought someone here was looking for them.
  11. A cheap, minty pair of Sony CD-3000s. Not entirely sure why I bought them but they are my first headphone purchase since the HF-2 I believe.
  12. I saw the Sony Macro coming in October but I had not seen this lens yet. Should come in handy.
  13. Happy Birthday

It does seem about time for another Wrist Shot Day. Mike, look at the Brookstone watch winders. Excellent for a lot less than the Orbitas.
  15. Took advantage of the HDTracks sale. 16. Looks great Al. Congrats to our newest member of the work force. No idea what that job is but it is a great thing to go straight from College to the job you hoped for.
  17. Happy Birthday
  18. Spent two hours at the 5th Avenue Apple Store trying to get Genius service. What a Circus. While I was there I saw a girl that had shattered her iPad 2 screen get a free new one and a couple that brought in what appeared to be a fake iPhone 3Gs that had screws falling out of the phone while the Genius tried to get the case off and they sold them a new iPhone 4 for $99 because they could not get the train wreck working.
  19. Halcro DM58s.
  20. The wallet is about to get heavier as this thing is going back. Remote barely works and while quieter than the Vornado type fans in the store it is still too noisy for my uses.
  21. My main system speakers are the Magico M5s. They seem to do everything I need for my speakers. I was hoping to find preamp/amps at the show but this was largely focused on Speakers using utilitarian preamp/amps. I can certainly see what you say about those Miami speakers as there was something a bit off, I thought it was a combo of the amp and the Tact system doing its thing, but some blues guitar he played for me sounded pretty decent. I also really liked the EAD room. Those little guys sounded better than I would have expected but I was also a big fan of the larger EADs at the last Stereophile show so maybe I like their house sound. Another note on the HR 1 to 1 disks. These things are seriously good. Not a huge selection but the music is decent and sound quality is some of the best I have heard in my system. David told me they were simply DVD-R copies of the Studio Master. I got: Jazz Side of the Moon 24/192 Rebecca Pidgeon - The Raven 24/192 John Hammond - Rough and Tough 24/192 Jimmy Cobb Quartet - Jazz in the Key of Blue 24/192 Jen Chapin - reVisions 24/192 I also got all these UDC discs from FIM but I am having a tough time differentiating between these discs and the standard CDs or these albums. Maybe a tiny bit less grain but not worth the hugely elevated prices these things are going for.
  22. Yes Crappy it is. I am involved in a top secret government project designing military-specific paper airplanes and this will be my test wind tunnel.
  23. One of these for the listening room. Needed some air circulation and this was the quietest fan I could find.
  24. It was some audiophile approved stuff I did not recognize. In that room at least the midrange was washed out by the fairly flabby bass. I thought they sounded good but nothing I would want to put in my system. The same reaction I had to pretty much everything there. Did you listen to those open baffle speakers from Miami in the High End Palace room? I thought they might be alright for the metal guys as they had good control of the bass and pretty good dynamics.
  25. No the phone pocket won't even hold an iPhone 4 with no case. It is really small. Maybe the Sport is a better idea, that one wasn't out when I was buying.
