Interesting. Do not see myself doing crown molding but I love the brands like Kreg that just come up with ways to make things easier. The issue with getting to the wood is that the wood stacked in front of my wood was not the wood I am looking for. I could have cut into those stacks, but that would not have helped me get to the cedar 2x4s I wanted behind the two stacks.
-
What does the Kreg do?
-
I wonder how someone is supposed to pull out 2x4 sfs cedar in this Home Depot. They seem to be guarding it.

For those concerned I might be stuck using the shitty Festool jig saw, I found a blade that I must have ordered with my Resaw King from Laguna. 1/4” 6 TPI Shear Force. Much better cuts than the cheap 3/16” 4tpi I had been running. The new guides are also so much easier to setup and maintain than the Euros. Al, I see a ton of nice woodworking tools up in that part of Michigan. I think there is a 60HH and a Jet 6” helical up there somewhere that keeps showing up in my feed.

Al, this guy near me is clearing out his shop of decent Grizzly stuff, you can get your jointer and bandsaw all in the same trip. If I could figure out how to fit that jointer in my one garage space wood shop I would probably grab it.
-
At least with the bandsaw down I finally took the time to replace the crappy euro guides with the crappy murican ones.
-
If I end up having to go jigsaw, I will go to Home Depot and buy an upgrade anyway.
-
Well, this is going to cause some delays on the Rocking Adirondacks. Going to have to either wait for another 6 Tpi blade or use the shitty Festool jigsaw.
-
I would probably pay more for that one than a normal rectangle.

Finished the baby ear tag sign but they want me to make the rainbow poplar gray now. Any input from the masses on the best/easiest way to do that?

I could get by with thinner sticks, but he uses cedar 2x material for the design I am following.

Damn, 2x8 cedar rough sawn, $75 a stick. Did Putin cause this? I am going to have $4k Adirondack chairs.
-
This weekend’s project jumped in front of the chairs. Cousin’s baby came early so making a gift that would be strange for anyone but a cattle farmer and large animal vet. Even incorporated the Dad’s cattle brand at the top. Since many of you are city slickers, this is supposed to be an ear tag for cattle.

Wrapped up the flip cart, now time to start on the Rocking chair Adirondacks for the new fire pit platform down by the lake.

I am actually doing a hybrid with Fisher’s basic cabinet so I can have the drawer with King’s add on shelves on one side and French cleats on the other.
-
Any of you guys build one of the myriad of flip top tool stands? Trying to decide between the Fisher, Kings Fine Woodworking and the Fix this Build that for the two sanders.

Decided to organize some drawers, walls and calibrate some seldom used Festool tools; router and jigsaw, as I thought I was going to build a new Paulk workbench so I can dump the MFT/3. That was until I priced the Baltic birch to build even the smaller workbench and decided to just flip the fucked up MFT/3 top and keep using this tiny thing for everything.

Grumpy British Guy wood shop tour. I love how much he hates everything.

Cleaned out about 20lbs of dust from the filter on the DC for the CNC. I guess I need to spin around the filter basher handle a lot more.

Breakfast courtesy of the the city folks that came out to see us yesterday. Such wonderous things they have in the big city.

Finished, with minutes to spare a set of these. Kasia asked, of course, why there are two openers on each and the answer, of course, was because this is fucking Head Case. and not that I gave fuck all thought to where screws were coming through the front when laying out the keyholes in the back

Working on party favors for a little headphone/craft beer nerd get together this weekend. Took forever to cut the 3D rendering of the logo but all done and used the new keyhole bit to cut keyholes for mounting on the back. Putting sealer on tonight so I can finish with boat varnish tomorrow. Then just add the bottle openers and done.

I pay other people with their own chain saws to deal with all that shit.
