  1. Dinny, never get the low end of anything. That is the way you lose points.
  2. Justin I have the Specialized S-works road and MTB shoes. They are by far the most comfortable shoes I have found. I have Sidi MTB shoes also but the S-works are so much better. I have XTR pedals laying all around the house if you want to try them.
  3. Thanks, I really like the looks of the bike. I need to put it on the scale soon as I am guessing it will be 5-10 pounds heavier than the Cervelo based on feel. The ride is really smooth, don't know if that is the 28 wheels or the Titanium frame. The Campy crank and shimano cassette also make for a dramatically quieter ride than the Sram Red.
  4. Got out for a quick ride before the rain set in. Been a long time since I have been on a bike this heavy but that weight makes this thing amazing stable. Felt like it was on rail and absorbed rough pavement far better than the two CF bikes. Found a decent little trail and neighborhood to ride right across the street from my development.
  5. Of course it is going to rain all day tomorrow so I will not be able to take this one out for a couple of weeks due to travel.
  6. Finished up (mostly) the Desalvo right about sun down so I just have some crappy high ISO pics. I still need to come up with some pedals and the Zipp silver skewers haven't shown up yet.
  7. Nice, handlebars look a bit tweaked. Is that an optical illusion?
  8. Where are the pics of your new bike Justin?
  9. I'll send my BHSE parts directly to my bike shop then so they can get the anodizing done more quickly on the high priority bike parts schedule.
  10. Nope, wheels were built by Fresh Bikes my shop. I bought the stand and all the tools to build my own wheels but I have not gotten up the nerve yet. They are H Plus Son rims. I am thinking I will have to replace the black Tektro wide gap brakes with a set of these very soon.
  11. Just re-break it and set it properly. Easy peasy.
  12. Got bored and decided to take the Calfee out for pictures.
  13. Spent some time on the Desalvo today. All I have left is tires, which should be showing up tomorrow, bar wrap, frame saver stickers and coming up with some kind of pedals. Some of the Mango goodness. and the RoadID kit came in today. Really nice piece of kit and with my medical issues I think 40 bucks well spent.
  14. Happy Birthday Ryan.
  15. Decided to try to improve upon the French Laundry Sous Vide Brisket by finishing it up with a bit of smoke on the Traeger. Turned out pretty good but I think I am going to go for a full Traeger smoked brisket next time.
  16. This one is supposed to be right there at campus and has some pretty serious to intermediate trails.
  17. Looks awesome. It has been too long since I have had some of those. I guess the crawfish omelette at the Hummingbird in Mayberry.
  18. Typically by all the angry hikers yelling at you. You might check www.mtbr.com to look at trail reviews for your area.
  19. Not sure that is a bike trail. Can't find any mention from the MTB guys.
  20. Looks good. When does your bike arrive?
  21. Got out on the far too busy W&OD trail today. So many large groups of people out walking and flapping their arms around. Still managed to beat one PR on a bike that is over 4 pounds heavier than my normal bike. I haven't been on the road bike since February so I am thinking I will take the Cervelo out tomorrow to see how many records I can break early in the morning when all the walkers are still asleep/in church.
  22. Pretty much. Or have some other medical emergency on a ride. I use a Garmin 800. Cell phones can be pretty spotty out on the trails but the Garmin typically works.
  23. Nice I ended up ordering the thicker one with a band of each color, to color coordinate of course.
  24. I know Chris has one but I am not sure about everyone else. I am looking to pick up some Road ID bands and I am trying to decide on style. Is the rubbery one comfortable? Anyone know? I was able to spare a line for "Head-Case Cycling Team" at the bottom of the ID.
  25. Shaping up to be a great weekend for a ride or two. I hope I remember how to do it after all this time.
