I think those G&G look great. I will have to research to see if I can see those around here.
-
Yeah, I think modern is the wrong word. The Mephisto shoes just seem kind of blocky so I am looking to avoid that.
-
Looking to update quite a bit lately and I am moving on from all my Mephisto dress shoes to something a bit more modern/interesting. Couldn't find a shoe-case thread here hiding amongst murses and bicycles so I figured we could have a nice discussion of something I assume most of us use. I have Allen Edmonds right across the street and an Alden one train stop away so they are first on my radar. Fashionista Colin pointed out the Peal & Co. option as well made shoes available at Brooks Brothers so I am looking at them as well. So what does the well-appointed Head-Caser wear for daily dress, casual, sport shoes around here?

I am riding in the Northern Virginia TDC the first weekend of June. Should be fun.
-
If only I could get race ready. I was trying to keep my cadence up over the 85 I managed last time but it wore me out pretty quickly. Not sure I am going to be up for a long ride for the Tour de Cure at this rate.
-
Did a short 7 mile ride on the Cervelo. Managed to drop 7+ seconds off several PRs. The Cervelo just feels so fast and responsive after riding the DeSalvo and Calfee the last few rides.
-
Comcast must have stolen some bandwidth from Verizon as my speeds are down.
-
I am about to head out for a short ride now and hope to have a bit of a ride tomorrow. I have not put many miles on any of the bikes this year.
-
I bought a nice Dukane for grilling but i tend to use the Traeger for just about everything anyway.
-
After using my parent's Big Green Egg I am extremely happy I got the Traeger. That thing was a pain to use and flavor was nothing special.
-
I have several of those. They work really well.
-
Happy Birthday Al. Have a great one.
-
I have a spare pedal wrench you can have Justin. I actually have spare cleats for the XTRs as well so you could try the whole setup if you want.
-
Dinny, never get the low end of anything. That is the way you lose points.
-
Justin I have the Specialized S-works road and MTB shoes. They are by far the most comfortable shoes I have found. I have Sidi MTB shoes also but the S-works are so much better. I have XTR pedals laying all around the house if you want to try them.

Thanks, I really like the looks of the bike. I need to put it on the scale soon as I am guessing it will be 5-10 pounds heavier than the Cervelo based on feel. The ride is really smooth, don't know if that is the 28 wheels or the Titanium frame. The Campy crank and shimano cassette also make for a dramatically quieter ride than the Sram Red.

Got out for a quick ride before the rain set in. Been a long time since I have been on a bike this heavy but that weight makes this thing amazing stable. Felt like it was on rail and absorbed rough pavement far better than the two CF bikes. Found a decent little trail and neighborhood to ride right across the street from my development.
-
Of course it is going to rain all day tomorrow so I will not be able to take this one out for a couple of weeks due to travel.
-
Finished up (mostly) the Desalvo right about sun down so I just have some crappy high ISO pics. I still need to come up with some pedals and the Zipp silver skewers haven't shown up yet.
-
Nice, handlebars look a bit tweaked. Is that an optical illusion?
-
Where are the pics of your new bike Justin?
-
I'll send my BHSE parts directly to my bike shop then so they can get the anodizing done more quickly on the high priority bike parts schedule.
-
Nope, wheels were built by Fresh Bikes my shop. I bought the stand and all the tools to build my own wheels but I have not gotten up the nerve yet. They are H Plus Son rims. I am thinking I will have to replace the black Tektro wide gap brakes with a set of these very soon.
