  1. Yeah watching the recording now. Definitely do not want to watch live unless you really like soccer commercials. None of the cool bike commercials you get on NBC Sports, all soccer all the time. I also liked how the beIN crew misspelled Cadel Evans' name in the race intro. Maybe they are new to cycling races. Rode to Alexandria and back this morning. Just about 24 miles with some decent climbing. 5 PRs and 800 feet of climbing. Felt like I could have easily kept going but my new seat just wasn't right so I wanted off the bike.
  2. Heading out for a ride this morning. Found a channel on Fios call BEin sports that shows a lot of cycling and will be broadcasting the Giro d'Italia today if anyone is interested in checking it out.
  3. Decided to take a walk to the Zoo during lunch today. Was only able to spend a few minutes so didn't make it down to the big cats.
  4. The bags look good to me and the strapping mechanism looks to be very good for bike carry. Not quite as easy as a pannier but I could use this on whichever bike I decide to ride. This, but in copper to match the bike of course.
  5. I think I will pick up the Bailey Digital Super Pro for regular use and one of the Portland racks for the future if I decide to put on a trunk bag or panniers. Wish Portland did these in stainless.
  6. Yeah, but I always want more than I ask for. I figure some times I might have to bring my POS Dell home for some work-related nonsense.
  7. Nate, which Baileyworks do you have? I like the Roadrunner in Copper. Dan, I have a hydration pack but I think it is too skinny to fit a laptop.
  8. Finally signed up for a bike locker at the train station. Hope to start my mini commute next week. Need to figure the best way to transport ipad, etc. comfortably while on the bike. Any of you guys have bike bags (pannier or wearable) that you recommend?
  9. I am in Falls Church, just inside the 495 loop at 50.
  10. I figure 2 hours drive down there so maybe I get in around 11, we grab a quick lunch and then hit the trails.
  11. Justin, where am I going and what time should I be there? I assume you are not going to make the road trip Ben?
  12. Most bikes do not have 34.9 seatpost clamps. My other bikes are 31.8.
  13. Seems like I was able to do a temporary fix by salvaging parts from the DeSalvo.
  14. My plan now is to try to get the broken off screw out of the Thompson and then use the bolt from my 31.9 Thompson clamp from the DeSalvo as a temporary fix.
  15. I need 34.9 seat post clamp.
  16. I might have hit a snag. I managed to snap off the bolt in my thompson seat post collar. Not sure I am going to be able to find one tomorrow early enough to head down that way.
  17. I think I am going to be able to get away. What kind of trails do you have in mind? I am looking for something a bit easy as the first run of the season.
  18. I rode up into Alexandria and then turned back. I actually parked at Belle Harbor Marina. It was not a long ride, just over 18 miles. I intended to ride through Alexandria and into DC but did not know where to go when I got there and cars were everywhere so I decided not to wander the streets. Are you commuting all the way up to your work. That seems like a long ride.
  19. Maybe Nate should come down to the NoVa Head-fi meet weekend. How many riders are we going to have in town that weekend? Justin, Mike, Ben, Juan, Chris. I no longer have spare mountain bikes but I could outfit a few people with 56 road bikes for a Team HC Ride.
  20. Really nice day for a ride here. The Mt. Vernon trail was not too overcrowded and the weather is excellent. I do wish they had a better surface as the cracks from roots can make for a pretty hairy ride at speed. On the way back I hit one and just about lost my grip on the handlebars. The constant transitioning from shade to sun makes it hard to spot them sometimes.
  21. I might be able to get down to cville but I have to check on a 3 o'clock Tee time I have at 3 on Sunday. Not sure if it is still happening or not. Ian I am looking forward to see the first GoPro video you guys shoot this season. You seem to be more interesting riders than Ginger Avenger and Biscuit Boy.
  22. I could do either day.
  23. Ben, I could drive up to Schaeffer Farms since it is closer if Chris is not going. Justin, you up for a ride this weekend? Juan, you around.
  24. Happy Birthday.
  25. Wakefield works for me. Ben, Justin, Juan? I am heading out shortly for a ride on the Mt. Vernon trail. Great day for a ride.
