  1. Cool toys are Cool. I do not know if it does things your devices won't but it was a dramatic upgrade over my previous blender and has not disappointed up to this point.
  2. I kind of like those white ones.
  3. Cheaper Oakley Radars on Chainlove at the moment, 75 bucks.
  4. Dinny's daily Smoothie pics to which I have subscribed has gotten me interested in putting the Vitamix back to use. I know there are many Smoothie people here so I thought a thread to share interesting recipes might be nice. I have done most of the basic things but I am looking for ways to incorporate more healthy things into my smoothies. I will start with one that I think is a bit of a failure, mostly because I do not like the flavor of chocolate Muscle Milk. 2 small containers of Muscle Milk Light Chocolate 8 Peach Slices 12 Strawberries 2 Tablespoons of Peter Pan Peanut Butter Ice While far better than straight Muscle Milk, it was still not a great flavor and really had nothing "healthy" in it.
  5. Competitive Cyclist is having another nice sale today. I checked on the Mad Fibers as I about had myself convinced to buy them after listening to Chris' marketing presentation but they are all out. They do have Tallboy Carbon/X.0 complete bikes for $4,000 which seems ridiculously cheap. Also some nice Oakley's for $140.
  6. Didn't manage to hit anywhere near 46 miles but did get out on an excellent ride with Chris and Juan in an area I have wanted to ride since first driving through it. This area of DC and Maryland feels like you are miles from town and the roads are mostly closed to vehicles on the weekend so much more relaxing. My Garmin once again failed miserably in the trees so I am going to have to figure out how to fit a cadence sensor on the Cervelo. I was reading around 6 MPH for most of the ride including some pretty crazy downhills that were in the trees. I think the Strava plot will look pretty strange because I saw at least once that I was cruising at 6-8 MPH and then I came out of the trees and jumped immediately to 30MPH. This explains why I always set all my PRs on the Calfee (with cadence sensor). Chris and Juan are still much faster than me but I am feeling much better at the end of these rides than I ever did in the past so I guess that is an improvement. Just saw on FB that my shop is showing the TdF stage tomorrow projected on the outdoor screen for a bit of a party so I have reason to break out the DeSalvo for a ride over and a bit of TdF party.
  7. Drunk History on Comedy Central. Interesting idea.
  8. I have whatever the standard Mavic tires they sell on the rims. Mavic sells the rims with tube and tires for some reason. I will replace with something else soon I think.
  9. The heavy ass Racing Ts that come on the Cervelo R5.

I think it is insane that "the worlds top pros" of scootering actually exist.
  11. I had forgotten what a fat pig the Calfee is. With Fulcrums With the Mavics Unfortunately the front hub is making noise so I am going to have to take it in for a check-up.
  12. I got some Ksyriums. These things sure come with a bunch of accessories. I also tried on the Sidi Wire Vent Carbons but they were just not nearly as comfortable as my S-Works. I just have trashed the S-works on gravel, etc. so I need some new ones.
  13. Decided against the Easton's but I am now looking at a Mavic Ksyrium elite s and a Zipp 101 for the travel bike. Which on do you guys prefer?
  14. I might have to pick up those EC70 for the Calfee. I wonder if they are thin enough to fit in the travel case?
  15. I think if I got the custom case for this setup it might be about pocketable though the little S100 will probably remain as my preferred little camera.
  16. Even refurb products come with warranty papers, etc. for the short warranty. I would assume anything new would come with warranty and some minimal advertising blurb or something.
  17. I guess this is the way new Canon EOS-M lenses ship? Nothing in the plain white box but the lens in bubble wrap.

What the Hell did you leave Austin for?

Bernard Watch is in Austin you know.
  20. You should, that is if you can't get f1.2.
  21. I do not know why the 18-55 kit shows up as being more expensive than the pancake kit since both lenses sell for the same price. I definitely don't like working with such a slow lens. Who wants a whole flower to be in focus when the D800 and 35 f1.4 can give me such nice blur?
  22. Most of them are gifts. They will just have to suffer. I should have a 22 f2.0 at my office tomorrow.
  23. Some more samples. For $300 I cannot find a whole lot to complain about.
  24. I certainly like the feel of the camera better than the S100, which I always thought was too small, but I do miss the controls of the S100. I do not know where my S100 is but I will try to compare focus speed on the two, I think they are pretty similar. The touchscreen does seem to work well. I will try to take it out this afternoon to really try it out.
  25. Amazon. The focus is really quite slow, even with the latest firmware. Not terrible but I would not expect 100% success on shooting things that move.
