  1. How secure are Google Docs and Google Apps? We're looking into document sharing here at my day job and someone mentioned google docs. Thing is, these are fairly sensitive documents with confidential information. Is this secure enough or no. Anyone else's company share docs this way?
  2. Just an idea
  3. I had boomana's HD600 and 650 on loan for a few months and I preferred the HD600 with my Beta. While the Beta can handle the 650 quite well, I preferred the sound signature of the 600 over the 650 overall.
  4. Best way to avoid temptation: give in
  5. Happy Birthday Duggeh!
  6. Well, Blues ties in with Jazz, but yeah I was going for more straight ahead jazz stuff, but no harm no foul.
  7. So I've been thinking a lot about how much music you folks have exposed to me and how grateful I am for that. However, it can be a bit daunting to look through the WAYLTN thread for genre specific stuff. So I thought, how about separate threads devoted to essential albums. By essential, I don't necessarily mean your favorites, but those albums you feel all "insert genre here" lovers should know. Let's say, one album per post; say a little something about it too. I'll start off: Sunday at the Village Vanguard-Bill Evans Trio I know, pretty obvious, but if you haven't heard it, you need to. These guys practically defined what it meant to be a trio. The interplay between LaFaro on bass and Evans on piano is brilliant. It's available in various formats. I've got it on CD and 180 Gram vinyl. The vinyl is heavenly.
  8. http://www.macworld.com/article/132715/2008/03/photoshopexpress.html Looks promising...just skimmed the article.
  9. Go to the jazz concert.
  10. Wow, just watched the trailer...looks like fun. I never saw that game...but I didn't have a mac growing up...or was it a pc game too?
  11. I love the HD600 with my balanced Beta22 (which is for sale, hint hint ). I also like them with the M3 as well. The CKKIII does a pretty decent job as does the pico (although the pico isn't as good as a full sized home amp, it does a surprisingly good job with the HD600...it's what I use all day in my office.
  12. Oh that's bad dude, you need to send that bad mojo my way, I'll take the hit for you See you PM as well for an exciting offer, act now while supplies last.
  13. Yes, just go for. Most people who buy the 580s, end up getting the HD600 grills and the HD650 cable...at that point you might as well spring for the 600, especially at current prices. If you're patient you can get a pair for $200-$250. If you're really vigilent you can score a stock pair in good shape for less than $200, but you have to keep your eyes peeled and jump when it pops up.
  14. I hear 180gram vinyl has more weight to the sound too.
  15. Once you go..... I guess. Mike: Nah, I'm good. If yours does sound all peaky in the highs, then it must be the blue or maybe just this copy. Oh well, the blue vinyl is pretty at least.
  16. Hmmm, maybe it's the blue vinyl then.
  17. Did you get the blue vinyl version of the Neko Case album? Mine sounds like ass.
  18. None that I'm aware of, somebody must use them to keep the product line open, but it's my understanding that they're built to order from ALPS, so perhaps that's how ALPS handles them and the reason for the high cost.
  19. Artist: Caitlin Cary/Thad Cockrell Album: Begonias Song: "Conversation about a friend (who's in love with Katie)" Lyric: "Katie's going to California/She thinks she's got the do re mi."
  20. i agree with what boo says here about the ad2000. I also agree with what voltron says about the k601, a good can in general but lacking the resolution and detail that the k701 has. I did feel the K601 was more "fun" to listen too though.
  21. Alright, i just want to say that voltron, defender of the universe, is an awesome guy...i mean a really great guy. i won't say why, because that's not really important, but he's a great friend and a great guy and generous and nice and friendly and he opened his hous eto us and made us feel like we were home there and welcome despite the clusterfuck weekend we threw at him with all the drink and debauchery (yeah mike I'm lookin' at you pop tart ) and despite two gear accidents he managed to have a killer time with us as well as organise transportation for a group of silly drunk sometimes obnoxious but always grateful yahoos.... and Vicki too. anyway, you guys rule and voltron rules and i'm glad i'm here to enjoy it all....so bummed about mising canjam....so bummed. but i know you'll raise a glass at least once for me and kiss a ransom bar wench for me. happy birthday voltron!
  22. Yes, it does. Well, stepped attenuators, not pots.
