  2. I added Jade info to the wikiphonia and used parts of various impressions from head-fi. Feel free to correct yours if you want and have time.
  3. I belie there are different variations of ESP950, amps as well as headphones. I remember heading that newest phones have some kind of driver improvement as well as different damping, but I can be wrong.
  4. Bang on a Can - Lost Objects (2001)
  5. Use the seam to help you position them. The straight part of the D should be behind and slightly below your ears.
  6. That is how I have the pads rotated: This fit gives me the best seal.
  7. Anja Garbarek? Is she any good? What CDs by her do you recommend?

  11. Did you try to dampen them mineral wool ala Lambda Pro? That could even out the FR and subdue vibrations and reflections that could be causing this strange coloration.
  12. Alfred Harth's Imperial Hoot - Secrets Of Developement (2000) Vortex - Les cycles de Thanatos (1979)
  13. The Soft Machine - BBC Radio 1971-1974 (2003) The Soft Machine - BBC Radio 1967-1971 (2003)

  15. DAF - Die Kleinen und die B
  16. Interesting, is this similar to how HE90 looks inside?
  17. Lots of glue all over the place I see. How are the drivers secured to the housing?
  18. The Residents - WB:RMX (2004) Nina Hagen Band - Nina Hagen Band (1978 ) Shub-Niggurath - Les morts vont vite (1986)
  19. Keep in mind that damping also improves the speed and transient response over entire frequency range, for planar drivers, and this turns out to be a great side-effect in addition to the flat frequency response.
  20. Well, various felt works differently with different headphones. T20v2 needs dense felt as they are bass heavy in stock form, so do YH-100 and HP-50/YH-3 it seems. YH-1 need something that is more transparent as they don't have as much bass to begin with and heavy felt can kill the bass that is there instead of tuning it. I discovered after playing with different felt and materials that the denser the felt the faster and snappier the headphones will be and the tighter the bass will be, but it will also reduce in quantity.
  21. Hey I live in Brooklyn, nuff said
  22. Well they do sound like precise, fast, very detailed and refined upper echelon stat They are real hi-end headphones in many ways better then SR-Lambda series, but some things that are bad are even more annoying because of this. Soundstage and tone was their weak point if you ask me. I was listening to ECR500 and TK33 last night and these 30 year old trets destroy something like Jade when it comes to soundstage. Hell ECR500 can even compete with O2, Lambda and Sigma when it comes to soundstage, details are lucking but imaging and tone are exceptional.
  23. swt61 lies, there are no polynesian fisherman, he just shaves his back to get the hair
  24. This is mostly matching my impressions of Jade, although you are harsher on them. During my short audition I also noticed that they have this overall cold and unpleasant tone and coloration. Everything sounds in a specific way and does not change based on recording, I found that annoying as hell. Oh, well people seem to like them a lot, but I rather take LNS politeness or ESP950 aggressiveness than this strange brittle coloration. YMMV
