  1. It is all Vinyl. The HD300 is my new preamp/headamp and the Vanguards are a new phono stage and battery psu. The Ack is for my SB3 so it doesnt sound like poo in my HT setup. Can't let my thousands of FLAC files and internet radio go to waste. Besides, what makes you think I would sell you a balanced senn cable?
  2. Yup... some guy locally.
  3. Ive been bad. I have secretly bought a EC HD300, Ack! dAck! 2.0 with all the goodies and Trigon Vanguard II and Volcano II psu
  4. My comp recently died as well though its a software erro in typical windowns fashion. Turn it off and go to bed it is working fine wake up go to turn it on and it will not boot. I haven't installed or updated anything and there are not chances of any foul play... just good ol winblows. Now I get to try and track down my copy of windows and after a few hours of backing up the joys of reformatting reinstalling and trying to remember all the of the adjustments and tweeks I have made.... I also just relized I will not lose all of the software I got while at school for my major such as Dreamweaver, VB.NET Office XP Pro and forget what else right now... blah! Oh also my pda froze a few days ago so I reset it and now some stupid Verizon.dll file is missing. Apparently it is an important one as my Activesync will not work anymore and it repeatedly freezes. The helpful tech support says it is a simple fix just backup my 108 contacts via Activesync and do a hard restart and that should fix all... I just hung up on the guy after thanking him for not listening to a thing I just told him becuase if he did he would understand that I can't simply back it up and hardrestart....
  5. There is still hope that it can well be broken... cell phones tend to work for a few days after they get submerged than POOF!
  6. That is very easy to do. Considering that you can pick up a nice 61" Samsung HL-T6189S for around $2,800 a Blu-ray and HD DVD player for around $500 each. That will leave you with nearly $6k to dedicate to a nice audio setup. SVS makes some fantastic subs. I have the PC-Ultra and it is simply amazing with movies.
  7. Just a heads up... you can stream FLAC files with it as well. There is a program called TVersity that allows you to transcode lossless files to wav files and send it via EZ-stream... makes it an even better bang for the buck
  8. Bad... the BAT ones are better
  9. I'm just not daring enough to do the older RS-1... if they were new no problem but I do not want to run the risk with the old glue and wood and the mess that could make... I don't want to end up buying myself a pair of RS-1s
  10. I think I make some nice cables www.EnigmaAudio.com
  11. You are all right. The only 4-Pin XLRs I know of are made by the likes of Neutrik. It is not a typical "Audiophile" standard plug so no company has ventured out that way yet. To be honest I am surprised that there are even options when it comes to 1/4" plugs from the likes of Furutech, Cardas and Vampire.... not that those aren't just rebranded products from China anyway. Gold Neutrik should do you just fine. The silver is a bit more open and detailed while the gold seems to be a bit warmer and darker... though I am not sure if the 4-Pin comes in anything but gold.
  12. Hey now... I also happen to make cables for people that like speakers, guitars, home studios and yes headphones as well. Oh and Alex is a good guy.
  13. n_maher... wanna come finish up my Jeep for me? I have a 98 ZJ buggy awaiting some lockers
  14. Audio Research SP16
  15. How ever did I miss PFK Day!!!
  16. Lavry DA10...modded with usb or some usb to spdif converter
  17. Enigma Audio makes some great cables... I use a their cables throughout my rigs. www.EnigmaAudio.com .... Zach is a great guy as well
  18. It is annoying as crap... no way does that show aid in the development of children... that is unless you want your kids running around making stupid nosies like those things do.
  19. My children will never be allowed to watch that show for a number of reasons that being one of them
  20. I have auditioned all of the Maggie line rather extensively the past month or so before I ultimately ended up picking up a pair of Eminent LFT-8s The Maggies have soundstage and depth like I have never heard before... each step up in the line all the much more so. starting with the 1.6 and up they have fantastic bass for which I really see no need for a subwoofer. The main reason I did not end up with the maggies was that while the soundstage was huge and vast is almost seemed overly so to me and some pieces didn't sound quite right. Also, you will not get that nice dynamic sound as with traditional speakers... and that is why I went with the Eminents as they have planar tweeters and midwoofer with a cone woofer... best of both worlds in my book.
