My understanding is the panel is made by Samsung but the electronics are done by Dell.

I must say this is one of the nicest monitors I have used and at the price of just under $400 it will be nearly impossible to beat. The monitor is 16:9 and has a native 2k resolution (2048x1152) with selectable 1:1 pixel mapping. This isn't perhaps the best monitor for gaming as I have found 16:10 to give you a bit more viewable area but for movies and TV this monitor is fantastic. I highly recommend it for anyone considering a monitor upgrade. The screen is glossy but not nearly as glossy as others. For movies I personally prefer a glossy screen for daily browsing and text viewing I prefer a matte finish.

tisk the Sennheiser SA5000s look very nice.

Signal cable does make nice products for the money. It is hard to argue with some of their prices.

I have a pair of Oracle2 XLR cables (silver alloy)... they are 1m long. I used them in my system for some time but no longer need them. They would normally be $205 but you can have them for $100 if you like. Other then that I would pick up a pair of Blue Jeans XLRs and forget the others at that price point.

How long do said cables need to be?

There are people who would more than gladly reterminate a stock HD650 cable to balanced for quite a bit less then $99

I have never heard the L3ks sound bad... which is quite a unique trait when it comes to headphones.

I will echo what nearly everyone has said. There is a slight change/improvement when running the L3ks balanced. I have had the opportunity to spend extensive time with balanced and unbalanced, reterminated and recabled L3ks and to be perfectly honest they are not worth recableing as the stock cable is quite good and the cost to performance gains ratio really isn't there. The L3ks are no where near as night and day as the HD6xx's. You will see just much benefit in reterminating the stock cable to balanced as you would with a full balanced recable.

The OCZ Ralley2 drives are some of the fastest flash drives I have used. But I believe the 16gb version is quite a bit more than $10. Depending on what you plan to use it for it might be worth the added cost. If you are going to just back up files then no worries on speed but if you will constantly be transferring files then the added speed will be well worth it.

Same... my Harmony One is even wife and kid approved. As for the Oppo... any ideas what it will be using for SD DVD processing? If it is the VRS as in the 983H it will be one very good player that's for sure.

Last I heard they were talking some place towards the end of next year.

Their cables are very well made as are their connectors. The Cardas just isn't for everyone... it is one of the older Senn cables.

Cable pran doesn't seem to do it for most... that or my pran simply isn't good enough. It is from the East Coast after all...specifically NJ. What's it to ya?!?
