  1. Same... on joy... nothing like snow for the morning commute.
  2. Samsung HT-BD2ET Blu-ray HTIB - $700 or so
  3. Also defeats the entire purpose of buying it in the first place no?
  4. How did you manage to get that one by the wife? ... given that isn't your murse on the seat.
  5. Fair enough. Portable DVD player with nice headphones.
  6. av123 has a fantastic deal ($1,500) on an X Series 5.0 setup that you would be hard pressed to beat at any price. All you might need is a sub but certainly not necessary. You can can a Pioneer PDP-5020FD for just under $2,000... 50" plasma, fantastic set. Again, you will be hard pressed to beat this TV at any price. As for a receiver any of the Denon line will do. The 2809 or 3808 are excellent choices. The Oppo BDP-83 would be the last link in the chain and at about $600 you can't go wrong for a truly universal player. That would put us around $5,500 if you buy new. That would leave plenty of room from a nice sub, cabling and whatever else you might want/need You can also go the projector route and still end up well within your budget. Something like the Sony VPL-VW40 or VW10 and the Optoma HD80 would do well for projectors and a 100" screen from Elite Screens or DaLite would fit perfectly. A screen and projector would run about $3,500 tops.
  7. I somehow missed this. Happy belated Birthday grandpa.
  8. Most Netbooks are rather noisy when their tiny fans are plugging along to keep them cool. You might be better off with a used 14"-15" laptop as their fans are a bit bigger and dont run quite as often. My wife Lenovo s10 is pretty noisy when in use while my R61 is dead quiet 99% of the time.
  9. I know the pain... had to do that on the wife's car few weeks ago... not exactly a small expense.
  10. Samsung LN-32A450 for the bedroom
  11. hmm wireless lamps... I think I am going to make a few of those. Make the stupid iPod white and label them as an iPod accessory and sell them for hundreds. Can make the upgraded wireless iLamp Pro which has speakers built into the base of the lamps.
  12. Yes, but the Oracle is a two for one deal when you consider the price of the Apex... You would only have had 2 recabled headphones instead of 4
  13. It is still yesterday right? Happy B-Day!
  14. It is quite a bit thicker... once you manage to sleeve it on a cable longer then 3ft (that is fun in and of itself) you will find the diameter of the over all cable is quite a bit thicker and stiffer.
  15. The stuff looks and feels nice but it also likes to snag and collect dirt and such. Just be careful with it if you go that route... its also pretty heavy and stiffer.
  16. Web cam whore
  17. This is head-case... any topic is suitable for any thread...everything here is just one large run-on thread.
  18. Happy Bday! ... It would be nice to give a listen to a rig of yours that actually works
  19. Sold. I love me my DA10 great source/balanced amp.
  20. Looks a lot like the Prima Luna amps
  21. But you can get them in yellow!
  22. Once could only hope they have built in ClassD amps
  23. I loved my CMT340s and my parents still greatly enjoy theirs. I highly recommend them at that price point. If you can stretch it a bit the Linbrook Signature Monitors takes everything the 340s do well and amplifies it quite significantly.
  24. Got my dad's projector for half the price I could have gotten it online when OfficeMax/Depot went under a few months back.
