Spore uses computer algorithms to create music so that the music is, theoretically, different each time. Pretty neat.

I missed it! I always wanted to try these hybrid open/closed IEMs.

Nice case! They look nicer in your picture than on the website. Hopefully I can find a decent enclosure locally.

wow this is actually pretty neat. This is the first external "docking" hdd enclosure i've ever seen.

I'm pretty new so I cannot give you any good suggestions; however, I heard my friend's Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier head with a Fender cab which sounded great together. Are you getting a combo amp? I started guitar recently and I use a Marshall 100W combo amp that I got for cheap, but I have no idea if it's good or not.

Shakesville: I Write Letters <-- blog about Fat Princess So this girl e-mailed Sony about this new "Fat Princess" game being discriminating. I'm a bit confused about the following statement.

Just wondering is this preamp discountinued? I can't find a link on CIAudio's website. I had to google to find the product link.

You're fine. Don't be so paranoid. I think.

Really nice site! I haven't seen your old one but this one is pretty easy to navigate. I've been taking French classes for over 5 years so I can kind of read your sidebar; however, I have a great suggestion for you. What you can do is keep the sidebar in French, but once you hover the mouse over it, the words will change into English. Once you move the mouse away, it will change back to French. This way, I think you can retain the French feel while providing English speakers with a nice translation.

Sorry >_< I guess I should've asked after I read the 105 pages of info.

Ok I've come here to learn more about STAX but it is like 105 pages . BTW nice rig slwiser. I guess I'll start reading slowly but to start things off, just wondering what is the difference between SR-007 and SR-007A SQ wise?

If you need/want to save money, just do the good old nickel mod where you cut a hole the size of a nickel (quarter size could work too I believe) from the normal SR60 pads. Don't ask me how does that improve the SQ because I have forgotten, but I listened to the pair of a friend of mine and it wasn't bad. I'm pretty sure you can still find a thread on it somewhere else. If you're starting out on the Grado sound, then the SR60 should be good enough but go with whatever you want. SR60 = Ultimate price : value.

Onboard soundcards use the CPU to process sound, which can be a problem because some programs, such as certain games, use up a lot of the CPU. Soundcards aren't only for audio performance purposes, they can help make games run smoother as well. Of course, I'm still going to use my Pico to listen to music.

Ok... I've done it. I really did! I went ahead and bought the worse possible sound card ever with the Razer brand name smeared all over it instead of the Asus Xonar or the Azuretech Prelude, which are supposedly much better for their price and actually designed correctly. I mean... how bad could it be? Reason? Nothing really, it costs $199.99CAD here and jumped on it when saw it go for $89.99CAD in one of the Sunday special savings ad for my local computer shop. Impressions: I just installed this card into my computer less than an hour ago and I already have many complaints about it. The main reason I bought it, apart from the relatively cheap price, was because it could upsample S/PDIF out to 192 KHz and to take a load off my E6420 Core 2 Duo 2.13GHz (overclocked to 3.2GHz.) Razer's factory's quality control is horrible because my card's metal bracket crooked, which made it screwing it to my computer case because it wasn't straight. After spending ten minutes figuring things out, I was finally done and decided to dig out my AT-HA25D DAC/amp that has been replaced by my Pico to try out the card's S/PDIF out later. Installing the drivers were easy and the interface was pretty straightforward. I didn't use any of the settings or the Dolby Digital/DTS effects, for it completely destroyed the music, despite sounding alright on computer multimedia speakers. I went ahead and changed the output sample rate to 192 KHz to try it out. What happened next really shocked me. The LED on my DAC/amp blinked like a flickering candle and the sound comming out of my ATH-W1000 was all distortion and jitter. I thought that my soundcard was defected and its S/PDIF out was corrupted. After lowering the sample rate to 96 KHz, the music played normally, if not better than the S/PDIF output on my motherboard. There goes one of the funcations of the card I purchased it for. Conclusion: Stay away from the Razer Barracuda. It is not worth it at all. I think I might go ahead and return it to NCIX, because not only does the quality of the card suck, but it cannot even upsample to 192 KHz. Now I know first-hand why everyone, apart from rabid Razer cultists, have given this card a thumbs down and woot.com has it on their site every month.

After rereading it twice I discovered that I was fooled by the "donations" part, thinking that Singlepower was still somehow part of it.

great.. I'm stuck on level 2 as well. I don't really like these games. It seems suspicious to me that some kid probably rigged it with a screamer in one of the levels. Now the interactive MOTAS (I forgot name), Crimsom Room, White Chamber (I forgot names..) and other flash escape games such as "The Bar" are more enjoyable imo.

Oh I see it now. Is the sponsor of the meet not going to show up then? That would be strange wouldn't it?

Honestly I've been thinking about Active vs. Passive for a long time now. Sorry for threadjacking but could anyone offer some advice? I've been looking at the Audioengine 5 Speaker System active speakers which goes for $349.00 MSRP; however, I took more time to look around and discovered the Sierra-1 Bamboo Loudspeaker passive speakers for $848 MSRP which looks appealing to me. I'm not sure what type of speakers need what type of amps to drive them. I know it is much simpler and less troublesome to purchase the actives and be done with it, but I would rather wait a bit and buy the Sierra-1 if the price : performance ratio is better. Can anyone tell me what amp would I need for the Sierra-1 and advice for Active vs. Passive in my case. Thanks, Nenso

I wonder what is going to happen at that meet... I'd say this is an impeccable oppotunity for customers who have problems with Singlepower to book a flight to Colorado and deal with the man face-to-face. Atleast that is what I would do if I was one of the unfortunate clients.
