  1. Same with me, except HD650s. I'll probably add some stats at some point, <Emperor Palpatine> It is inevitable... </Emperor Palpatine> but I'm never going to ditch all my dynamic stuff. I've spent too long building it up, and sounds great. I'm trying to convince myself NOT to get the new Millet/TTVJ beast. But I dont know if I can justify 3 amps
  2. Looks great. I bet it sings.
  3. I've not followed Stax too closely, but having learned that the new O2 is different than the old version, I may get an old version before they become unavailable (hopefully thats not already the case) Would someone verify if one of these is the old version? If not, whats the difference, other than cosmetic? http://www.audiocubes2.com/brand/Stax/product/Stax_SR-007_(OmegaII)_Electrostatic_Earspeakers.html http://www.audiocubes2.com/brand/Stax/product/Stax_SR-007A_(OmegaII)_Electrostatic_Earspeakers.html They appear to be the same impedance.
  4. Not regularly, but they had an informative bit on PETA on youtube.
  5. I'm guessing people are now sorry they submitted pics to the Show Us Your Mug thread
  6. OK, I popped the Bel Canto's cherry and took pics. While I was at it, I took some pics of my Ear HP4. I'll post those real small since its a bit off topic, and link to larger images. These are on Flickr, which has some funky server load times sometimes, fyi. First a little striptease... The top is actually really heavy. Its some thickass metal, thats for sure. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2045/2487871652_0b02a0bb43_o.jpg On with the show... I'm not well versed in electronics, so I'll let others more adept at such things comment to they're satisfaction. Regardless of how these internals are received here at HC, I stand by my opinion; this DAC sounds fuckin awesome. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2020/2487871560_a4d5e8bc4f_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2411/2487055539_758dd7b1c8_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3154/2487871970_45355f97c2_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2345/2487055769_6638c2eef7_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3104/2487872140_523bc67881_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2060/2487055913_994fdc6a2d_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2085/2487056047_0eab61d53e_o.jpg sorry for the blur, but I don't have an iphone tripod http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2316/2487056137_871fdc5783_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2184/2487056221_5148245555_o.jpg EAR HP4 Headphone Amplifier http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3137/2487872664_fdda64b407_o.jpghttp://farm4.static.flickr.com/3191/2487872844_3e98180873_o.jpghttp://farm3.static.flickr.com/2401/2487056617_0ddcf3af6e_o.jpghttp://farm4.static.flickr.com/3102/2487873044_28ed0cfb9e_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2250/2487873110_43fc0ffefb_o.jpghttp://farm3.static.flickr.com/2162/2487056925_e833115f78_o.jpghttp://farm3.static.flickr.com/2379/2487873296_82d986076e_o.jpg I've included a pic of my custom mouse pad, to avoid all the PMs I'll get if I don't. I learned my lesson on [H] a while back
  7. Not me. The last one in texas didn't end well. I believe it was in Waco, iirc.
  8. Matmos - Supreme balloon Apparently they use retro synths this time.
  9. I hope I don't reach that same conclusion. I need to hear it a few more times first. I have noticed that its not as catchy as the old stuff; I don't find myself humming it in my head the way I do the old stuff. Curiously, I enjoyed it best in my car as opposed to headphones. Usually its the opposite with most anything. The bass doesn't come alive on the headphones the way it does in my car.
  10. Wouldn't that be minimalism by default?
  11. I'll see if I can jimmy open my Dac3 and take iphone pics tonight. I'm a bit curious myself.
  12. This is completely subjective, but I actually think ipods make for better car audio than personal audio. It beats the alternative of something like an EEE pc running off the cigarette light power thingy, with some sort of DAC and a hard drive of music, piped to your CD player's AUX input. I no longer attempt audiophile status with portable rigs, its just a pain in the ass, and never really that great, since you're limited to the ipod's dac. The dac is a little less important in car audio, since there is such a high noise floor already.
  13. Its not all full yet. Its all for music. Depending on how much space is left over after **ahem** rounding up all my music in one place, I will use any spares for backups. Plus whenever possible, I like to make backups of my backups. Oh and if I do have duplicates, I can listen at home and at work
  14. Apple is great and all, but running windows through a simulator is never going to be as good as the real thing. I dont care what anyone says.
  15. I tried the 201s but I just couldn't meld with their sound. I think I gave them away to a friend.
  16. 3 more WD 640MB hard disks, bringing the set up to 5 total. Probably the best drive available today. Now that I have 2 Thermaltake BlaX internal drive USB mounts, I can use hard disks like the floppies of yesteryear. What a time to be alive.
  17. I've put my PX100s through hell and they always ask for more.
  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdD54rG9oQA
  19. Ingeniousness site plan
  20. No, the HD650s definitely aren't neutral either, I just think they are more neutral than the Denons. The Denons have more midrange, but its too much. To me, its one phone that plays deep and clearly, vs another that plays fairly deep and very very punchy in the mids. I'd rather have the Senns. But ymmv.
  21. I doubt that one's real. Looks like a meteorite though.
  22. Well they do keep more sound in than HD650s, I'll grant you that. But the only way I can listen to them is if I completely stop listening to my HD650s, and slowly get accustomed to the sound. They're colored, plain and simple. I think they may be more colored than the PX100s. Its not that bad if you dont have other phones to compare to though.
