Anyone here try any of the Mosaic jazz collections instead of getting all the discs from Amazon? I'm wondering if these are better masters than the standard discs, or just a prettier face. Most of them I've looked at are remastered from the original master tapes, often at 20 bit. http://www.mosaicrecords.com/prodinfo.asp?number=197-A-MD-CD I usually just buy all the albums of an artist, so I dont know what to make of these yet.

I cant comment the the Duet, but people who've heard it next to the Headamp Pico feel that it is similar quality to the Pico. I can tell the Pico is far, far cleaner sounding than the Emu. I've had both. So I can't imagine it not being a great upgrade, particularly economically, since its only a few hundred bucks.

I was exaggerating a bit, I just meant that, in my experience with game consoles (i.e. not ps3) they all tend to run very warm, sometimes downright hot. Much hotter than a computer drive. Just my experience. It was not meant to be a PS3 specific comment, just game consoles in general.

Bought some more OOP OJC jazz discs. Trying to nab as many as possible (even those not OOP) Many can be had for cheap, but that won't last forever... I'll buy more later this week, possibly even today

Time out is mandatory listening, even if you are not that into jazz. Its like the Waynes World line; "I lived in the suburbs, so I was issued it with samples of Tide.". That Rancid album is the best punk rock album I have ever heard. Its a real grower; something you can leave on repeat for months at a time. At least thats what I did in high school, when I had little money to get new music. I've not enjoyed their other albums anywhere near as much. They were kind of a flash in the pan, for me at least. Though the song Bloodshot is awesome.

You're not talking strictly instrumental are you? If not; I need some time to brainstorm, but one that immediately came to mind is the Led Zeppelin duo, Heart breaker/Living Loving Maid. I get violently angry when I hear HB on the radio w/out LLM. I dig the complete rhythm changeover. I also like to hear Dave Brubeck's first few songs on Time Out played in correct order. Simply from repeated listening, anything different sounds odd. So Blue Rondo A La Turk > Strange Meadow Lark > Take Five. Also the first half of ...And Out Come The Wolves by Rancid. Minus one song, to remain qualified

I don't really do fine restaurants, save for family gatherings, when the parents are paying. Lots of times I'll just get a footlong club at subway and a soda from 711 on the way home from work. There is a new Moe's chain near where I live thats decent. Better than taco bell, similar to Chipotle, but much more variety. I always get the taco salad that comes in a big shell. I love me some shells. I also make it a habit to return to the jerry's I used to work at to bs and give them a hard time. I never eat alone in restaurants, so its mostly take out. When I don't eat at home, that is.

I dont have it in front of me, as its at the office, but I want to say its printed. I don't really remember.
