  1. I've no idea if I can go or not. Probably won't know until July at the earliest. Consider me unreliable.
  2. Oh snap, does "colin" have/had orange hair and dreadlocks? I used to know a Colin that went to UMBC and my same high school.
  3. I didnt realize they let outside groups use those for free. Not bad, I guess. I've been in a few on the second floor. A little cramped if theres more than a few people, but they may have bigger rooms.
  4. UMBC library? Which section? I can't imagine that being optimal for a meet at all, to be honest. Unless its the special collections section, which would be very, very awesome.
  5. I remember reading about a study done of hybrid cars, the environment, etc. It found that the Prius is the number one selling hybrid, not because it is the best, but because it looks like what people expect a hybrid to be. People buy it to show how enlightened/green they are I wont offer my opinion on the matter, just reporting what i've read. I am so not going there.
  6. Just found out about this via Gmail. This is from the original master tapes
  7. Japan import version:
  8. With any luck, my next car is no car
  9. Stanley Turrentine - A Bluish Bag OK, so not lead by baritone, BUT... This CD has two different sets of songs, each set a different group of musicians. However, both have Pepper Adams (baritone/clarinet) AND Julian Webster (trombone) 2 birds with one stone
  10. Getz Meets Mulligan in Hifi
  11. Forgot about him. He has stuff on Mapleshade. I have one somewhere.
  12. Great - another wallet breaking thread Well I've got alot more tenor sax albums than baritone, obviously. I'm not surprised; it takes a lot of lung power to play the baritone. I played it a few times in middle school for 1-3 week increments for school concerts, migrating from my usual alto sax. Its really something else, and takes all you've got. I had great lung power after playing though. I'm listening to this right now (came in the mail today) Pepper Adams - Encounter! There is some great interplay between the thrust of the baritone w/ the smooth tone from Zoot. Zoot has such a velvety smooth tone, at least on everything I've ever heard of his (which isnt that large of a sample pool, admittedly). I haven't heard this yet, but Jimmy Giuffre (as mentioned on that site above) is both a clarinetist and a baritone sax player. This selection has some baritone on it, as well as tenor and clarinet (all Giuffre) and guitar + bass. I'll have to poke around on my collection for more. **edit: I think I have several more selections from both artists coming in the mail...will report back **
  13. Saw this earlier today. lol
  14. I guess. It was towards the front of the thumb, where the nail is. The fleshy part. I think if it went into the nail, it would have been even harder to pull out (though thats just an assumption). The only thing I'm a little worried about is the area under the nail, as this is supposedly ultra sensitive material. I just hope it heals without much trouble. Though the pain is gone now, for the most part. I guess it helps that I have fairly large hands.
  15. I stapled my thumb this morning \ Opened the loading mechanism to make sure I had plenty of staples, closed it and BAM...all the way into my thumb. About a 45 degree angle from the edge of the thumb, through to just below the nail. I could actually see it though my thumb nail. Surprisingly painless going in, but a little annoying pulling it out. It was in very tight, and I had to make several hard pulls to yank the bitch out. Very little blood, thankfully. I'm trying to find out if I need a Tetanus shot. pfffft.
  16. Probably mistaken for a baby covered in placenta and afterbirth.
  17. This guy finds more reasons to post pics of himself shirtless....
  18. I'd do the same thing. Makes Obama look not so "new kind of politics" like. RFKs son already proclaimed he took no offense to her remark, and understood the context. McCain, Hillary, Obama...all presidential nominees have people both directly linked AND not directly linked folks to their campaign that will do the smear tactic stuff, for plausible deniability on the nominee's part. She can suggest that it is them, under the guidance of Obama, that are fueling the outrage.
  19. I'm most definitely not a woodworker, but (and I am almost sure you know this already) certain woods can be toxic when sawed. I know Cocobolo is one. It may be that state of wood that is affecting you.
  20. This one really deserves a spot here. Even if no one else here has heard it yet. Its phenominal. It also happens to be a Steve Hoffman remaster on the cheap (not gold disc). Mandatory listening, as far as I'm concerned. Its from the pre-bop era though. Pee Wee Russell - Portrait of Pee Wee
  21. Only reason I haven't jumped onboard the Stat train is it would necessitate an entirely new rig. Its taken too long to get decent dynamic amps as it is. I really dont know if I feel like buying a new amp again.
  22. The ol' bait and switch
  23. E.A.C. that mofo.
