Yeah. Though IMO, some of the guys there are pretty much just there to kiss SH's ass. There's not really a whole lot of objective opinions, only biased ones. And I'm talking about the music section, not the audio gear!

I used to go to a local place called CD Warehouse, but they have really been struggling since the takeoff of MP3. I haven't been in at least a year, and before that, it was once every 6 months or so. Every time I came back, I expected the store to be out of business, and was pleasantly surprised to find it there. But their selection was too stagnant. They started selling videogames and movies to help stay afloat, and as a result their CD selection suffered further. I just use Amazon Marketplace now, for the most part.

The last thread was certainly going nowhere fast, and I helped it get there. Apologies. I am guessing what some people are concerned about is the possibility of HC getting to be too much like some other sites, in their moderating fashion. I have no comment positive or negative on this subject, just wanted to help explain others comments as I see them.

I've got something rather important to say about Oppo: even with Hybrid SACD discs, I cant seem to get anything SACD to play through the optical connection to my dac. The disc plays, but everything is silent. I have not actually read the manual yet, but this should be straightforward. I hope to look at the issue tomorrow in more detail. But so far, my new Oppo DV-980H only plays redbook-only discs through the optical. I thought that I would be able to play the redbook layer of hybrid SACDs through the optical, but so far, no dice Nevertheless, I am loving the player. It loads CDs quickly, is quiet, so I have no other major complaints. It would have been nice if the bottom were flat, for using spikes and whatnot, but that is a minor complaint.
