  1. man, when we tangent, we TANGENT.
  2. Shure e.530s. I've never had anything plugged into the input. Its always just been used as a dac/amp from my laptop and/or desktop. I should try that sometime, I didnt think of that. Cables = whatever USB cable I have lying around for the desktop, or the short USB cable that I requested with the Pico. And the headphones. And in this case, the Pico is the source, since I have the dac/amp model.
  3. oops, thought this was the pico thread.
  4. Not all of us have windows
  5. I have to disagree here. At least in its stock setting, for me the Pico has some noise when using IEMs. I don't recall if Justin can or will adjust the gain for them, and I don't really care. Its not there with full headphones though, and they sound terrific. As do PX100's, which are not full sized headphones.
  6. If you have a cleaning crew come in at night, I'd just stick with the headroom stands, personally. It puts them in a position where they are less likely to clean back there, for fear of knocking over the speakers. I'd just move everything you have now to face the window.
  7. Forgot about coupons : Coupon if you got email (8%) Coupon if you didnt get email (5%)
  8. 37" Westinghouse 1080P w/ 2 DVI/ 1 HDMI = $600 I've contemplated this model so many times, but I just dont have the room for it. Its not without its problems, but it was pretty popular as a computer monitor in its time (assuming you can be at least 3 or 4 feet back). This is not a refurbished model, as far as I can tell.
  9. Poor Dusty's gonna have an interesting read the next time he stumbles upon HC.
  10. Guess I dont have to tell you Cherry Garcia is the win.
  11. godspeed on the sacds
  12. Inglewood, Inglewood always up to no good.
  13. heh. Within a few weeks time, answer to that will be no I seem to have gotten into a pattern here; get paid, buy hard drives, get paid, buy hard drives... I think the only answer for a failed drobo is getting another one, and putting the drives in, in the same order they were in the last one. I almost passed on the drobo for the same reasons Riceboy mentioned above, but decided the convenience was worth the risk for me personally, especially since its not my only source of backup. For me, it was either this or get at least 2 more Thermaltake Blaxxs. Not as convenient, but that would have been a lot cheaper though.
  14. I love the new album art/ artist view. But I only had about 50 albums loaded to the library at the time. I've been getting a weird thing where the background (which was black) turns purple, and a section of the left sidebar turns green. It comes and goes. It first popped up when I went to the store view (which is a rarity for me), and went away when I returned to the library view. But then it started appearing in all the views. It happened last week when I had my ipod connected, and that was not with version 8 obviously. So I'm not sure what I managed to do to it
  15. I just added a third seagate (as described above) about 5 minutes ago to the array. I had the "Drobo Dashboard" open as I did it. Boom, instant 930 gigs of free space added. This was the first drive added where I didnt have to go through any sort of initiation procedure. It was pretty sweet. As for data loss, I've not owned a drobo anywhere near long enough to confidently vouch for it. Though it may be pertinent to mention this is "Drobo 2.0", i.e. the first revision. I installed some updates/drivers before adding any drives. Only time will tell, I guess. Good thing is this in itself is a backup for me. I've got a bunch of 640GB WD drives with all my music, for use in my Thermaltake Blaxx units. Everything gets ripped to the 640GBs initially for now, then added to the Drobo. No sense moving this thing around. The HD cage ZZF ships with Seagate 1Tb drives: How cool is that?
  16. And I think I may get a second Drobo soon
  17. Seagate 1 Terrabyte drive from ZZF = $127. I've bought 3 of these so far. They run alot hotter than my WD 640GB drives, but they seem ok. I bought them for $139 and $149. They arrived from ZZF packed in the best HD foam cage I have ever seen. Basically a box with a folding door, all made out of foam. I'm keeping them to store unused disks on my shelf now
  18. I was really, really, really hoping they would have new ipod classics with more storage space, as opposed to less . I really hope they aren't planning a gradual phase out of the original, high-volume audio player, cause the competition blows. And I got me a lot of apple lossless
