  1. wtf, I dont have that one. Goddammit, I thought I closed the book on Rollins. Off to amazon...
  2. I'm super pleased with the WD green drives. I was a little apprehensive, but they've proven to be at least as good as my seagates, and are even quieter and much cooler. I would be so daring as to call these the perfect drives for the Drobo.
  3. Its customary to not bother pointing out that which is obvious.
  4. Me too, but its walking a tightrope that often ends up being too much bass.
  5. Yeah, my jaw kinda went agap when I first saw that. Like Obi Wan, I just felt a deep disturbance in the home-theater-pc force, as if thousands of voices were suddenly silenced at once. Now we just need 1080p capability.
  6. I've also wondered about the bass at times, but with some music it seems to be all there and then some. I may end up deciding it is ever-so-slightly bass-lite with more listening, but even if thats the case, it will be of no consequence to bass depth. Throughout my source evolution, I've definitely come to appreciate accurate, controlled bass over a larger quantity of sloppy bass.
  7. I hear in the digital domain.
  8. Maybe I outta get to chatting with this dragon guy then. He seems on the up and up.
  9. Do they omegas use the same exact cable termination as the OIIs? If I have a BHSE with dual stax jacks, I could plug either phone into the same socket?
  10. Its not ugly; its beautiful fun discourse
  11. 1.5 hour GoToMeeting conference call with a bunch of retards. All designed to speed up production, yet accomplished nothing. I like where this group is headed
  12. I have an Amish-like mentality, in regards to the errors. Too few errors, and the music is not natural, and too artificial. You need a little bit of edginess from occasional errors to help make the audio sound natural, and real. I only use usb cables intentionally designed to induce protocol errors. Nobody makes USB cables better than the Amish.
  13. If you're running a stax setup, you actually want to construct a wire with pata wire. More closely matches the stax cable's architecture.
  14. I almost bought one this weekend for no reason
  15. I'll bite.
  16. I'm running mine off of the RCA's currently. I don't have any XLRs, but maybe now I won't bother with them after reading that. In regards to the dacs, I have no proof, but I really do remember reading about how it uses different dacs for SACD/Redbook, and different ones for SE and balanced. I don't know how I'd prove that, considering I know jack shit about internal parts. Oh well.
  17. I never opened mine, but from pics I've seen on other sites, I'm pretty sure there are multiple dacs/boards. My comprehension of what I'm looking at is minimal at best though.
  18. son of a bitch, thats awesome
