I would suggest looking at whats available already in SACDs, to see if its worth it to you to have the format.
I bought an SACD player primarily for all the new jazz stuff (Analogue Productions) slated to be released, and now have a whopping 8 discs (well, that and a few misc. others like Mofi Pixies).
Other than jazz or classical there doesn't seem to be much action for SACDs. I'm quite pleased with the SONY ES player though, and it does a fantastic job w/ Redbook too.
Its definitely the best source I've heard under $1500, possibly the best I've heard period.
Possibly.
The tree has entered my hands,
The sap has ascended my arms,
The tree has grown in my breast-
Downward,
The branches grow out of me, like arms.
Tree you are,
Moss you are,
You are violets with wind above them.
A child - so high - you are,
And all this is folly to the world.
They really dont know what they're doing, but thankfully they aren't the ones mastering the stuff.
It will come out when it comes out, and we'll take it like the masochists we are.
There's been a bunch analogue productions vinyl coming out, and its usually the same titles on a delayed release for sacd, so we should be seeing like 5 or 6 titles soon, minimum. I think.

60% discount on purchases from Restaurant dot com. Ebates shows 30%, but the redirect claims 60%. I think that rate must be today only. 30% cash back.
Also buy $25 gift cards for $4.
Join ebates w/ my link above since I'm a shameless whore, and you'll get $5.
That actually would be kinda cool. But thats a bit sparse even for me. I'm 'inheriting' a brown leather couch that will go in the living room, and the ikea stuff (tv unit/ end unit(s)) and I may get one of those expedit book cases to put on the back wall to act as a sort of diffusor. Possibly some sort of drawer unit as well, in time.
I'm still undecided on what speakers I'll be going with though. I've decided ot go the high-efficiency route though. I'm considering Omegas, the new Zu Essence (since it has a new ribbon tweeter) and maybe Devore Gibbon Super 8s.
I'm holding off on Harbeths as they will be in another room I'll be furnishing later on.
2 bass traps and 3 wall panels. I stopped by my house briefly after work to view the progress w/ the floor refinishing and its like a big empty (and smelly) echo chamber. The floors look about 1000 times better though.
I do love the look of the LACK series. I have a tv unit and 2 side tables purchased, because they match the 2 Jerker computer (desk) tables I have. They're still unassembled.
Ikea's light wood color 'birch' is pretty much my favorite wood tone.
But yeah its definitely not something you'd put a DLP tv on (not that i have a dlp)
I'm trying to find stuff that has the design of Ikea with better build quality for some furniture like my dinner table. I like this one, but its like $1,500.
Its solid oak, so it should last for a long damn time.
