    Nice Work, Squire!
  5. Strange-ish location. Handy for Ikea, or if you come by Amtrak I suppose. Aways from the newly opened Five Guys though
  6. That's already been tried. It wasn't too popular. Maradona’s Hand of God Goal - AbhiSays.com Argentina v England (1986 FIFA World Cup quarter-final) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Diego Maradona 'Hand of God' Goal Recap - Diego Maradona - Zimbio
  7. It just works! * For small values of "works", as in "it works, just"
  8. Architectural River tour in Chicago, in light drizzle, and drifting low cloudbase. Missed the match ( but didn't miss much by all accounts). Mildly delayed flight to The Bay Area. Now back to reality after the CJ Bubble and Vacation/Eating in Chicago. Good Lobster Club at Fox & Obel. Nice Brunch at The Bongo Room. Tasty Tony's Three Chili Chicken at Lao Sze Chuan. Did I miss any interesting discussions
  9. Made it to Gino's East (North Wells Street) tonight, Small Supreme (4 Slices) with Crumbled Sausage was just right for Joanne and I. Mmmmmmm
  10. Is Wayne a lesbian trapped in a man's body? That might explain some of the behavior at the Pizza Parlor with Polina. Don't ever let him on Sesame Street, though ... bought to you by the letters ...
  11. Reminds me of an old joke, which Steve has probably heard already Q: Are you a practicing Homosexual? A: I don't need to practice, darling, I'm already perfectly good at it!
  12. Steve, Shelly - It was a pleasure to meet you both at Can Jam, and it speaks volumes that you are comfortable enough here to be your true selves. I'm fortunate enough to live in an area that embraces diversity. Here's looking forward to the day when your announcements would be a non-issue, everywhere.
  13. Just about to check out after a leisurely scotch-free breakfast , then onto playing tourist for a week in Chicago. Big thanks to all those who made it possible, and all those who attended. The gods smiled on our female members with raffle wins for Vicki and Shelly. I now know the corrects accent in which to read Spritzer's and Douggeh's posts. All the cool kids have iPads. Al wins this years What Happens in Can Jam, Stays in Can Jam award Further research is required on the JH3-A and LCD2 Tyll's word of the meet: cloaca It is absolutely worth waiting 90 minutes in line for awesome Hot Dogs Can't wait for the next one!

  18. More a case of what did you do this week? Executive summary: playing Uncle to Joanne's visiting 18 year old niece. The long weekend looked promising, a few chores on Saturday (replacing some full 1TB drives with new 2TB drives, haircut , car service) Take it easy Sunday, Host a BBQ for some Brits on Monday. Joanne checks her email Saturday evening to discover one that says "Plane lands 4:30pm Sunday - look forward to seeing you then!" Hang on a minute, Didn't her father say she was coming in late June, for the 4th July weekend? Yep, checked the email - that indeed was what he said. Updated him on his daughters revised plans, only to get the response "oh well" . Sunday morning was a blur tidying up the spare room / office / dumping ground converting it into a guest bedroom in a few hours, rather than the planned few weeks post can jam. Trip down to SFO via Costco to pick up said niece. My how she's grown This is a brief stop on her round the world "Gap Year". She managed to part finance it by replenishing supermarket shelves on the night shift for four months. Thats motivation for you. She wants to be a(n animal) Vet, so since leaving the UK in February she has volunteered at Australia Zoo - Home of the Crocodile Hunter - “Conservation through Exciting Education” (Australia Zoo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia), Learnt to surf on the Gold Coast, then spent two months at Esther Honey Foundation in Cook Islands - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. She is now with us, until the end of the week when she continues to LA for two month with Gibbon Center Home So Monday I played tourist with her, visiting The Marine Mammal Center : Home while Joanne prepped for the BBQ. I was then on grill duty (Chicken, Salmon, Eggplant, Potato Wedges) which went down well. Back to work on Tuesday , while she took the Ferry into SF. Complained that SF was cold and that it was the first time in the last four months she'd warn long jeans (rather than skimpy shorts ) Today was supposed to be my Pre Can Jam Prep Day, but it was her turn for some serious retail therapy, having been "stuck" on a tropical island for two months. Went to the Apple store to show her the iPad, whereupon she contacted her Brother on Facebook to say "This is being sent from an IPad, hells yeah!" More retail therapy continued as I went home to pack to the flight to Chicago. Kids today, Know what they want, travel round the world, keep in touch via Facebook, have their own travel blog, want an iPhone for their 19th Birthday. Can you blame them? It's been fun, but has made me feel somewhat old. Youth is wasted on the young! Never mind, Its Can Jam this weekend, I wonder if that will make me feel old, or young again? Tell you all about it there!
  19. ^ This Saturday night, Norton, 47, will commentate on Eurovision for BBC One for a second time, having replaced Terry Wogan last year. This was a challenge, as Wogan had had the job for 28 years, but Norton did well: like Wogan, he has a knack for the sardonic yet affectionate quip. He wasn’t nervous till he sat in the commentary booth: “I thought, ‘Oh God – this could be a disaster.’ But it seemed to go without incident and people were quite favourable. So hopefully they won’t be appalled this year either.” Graham Norton: ‘Susan Boyle should be our Eurovision entrant’ - Telegraph
  20. Both Eurovision 2010 Semi finals. Probably not enough Pumping Shiny Cheese for Duggeh's taste, maybe. Seemed to go big on power ballads, with a key change and big finish, sung by statuesque pretty young things, but who's complaining? not me. The final on Saturday should be an enjoyable affair, now we are down to the final 25 "European" nations (that include Israel and many former Soviet Republics) If this makes no sense to you, I suggest you try Eurovision Song Contest 2010: the contestants in pictures - Telegraph (esp with AutoPagerize for Chrome ) and check out the HD videos - fun stuff
