  1. ^ Give in to your unspoken urges then? You know you want to
  2. why not Buy one from Audiogon. That will give you something to listen to, while you send the other off to get a quote for repair. When you know how much that will be, you can then decide if its worth it to you, to have it repaired/refurbished. If you do get it repaired. you can then compare the repaired unit, with the agon unit, keep the one you like + sell/re-cycle the other. If the repair is not worth it, you've saved yourself the expense, and could still sell it with disclosure of possible repair costs .. Either way you end up with a known good system that makes you happy, the value of which should not be dismissed lightly. Unless of course, you are coming down with a bout of audio nervosa, and you are relying on your fellow co-dependent enablers for permission to scratch that itch. Life is short. Do whatever makes you happy. Sometimes we forget that.

Increase your wordpower ... The Washington Post’s Mensa Invitational once again invited readers to take any word from the dictionary, alter it by adding, subtracting, or changing one letter, and supply a new definition. | Wildman's Hangout Or easier to read http://thesmartmoney.wordpress.com/2009/05/20/winners-of-this-years-washington-post-mensa-invitational-and-more-very-funny-a-lighter-touch-enjoy/

  12. ^indeed Steve Jobs has vowed never to visit Japan again after being prevented from leaving the country with a set of ninja throwing stars, according to a local magazine. The Apple CEO apparently had a set of shuriken in his carry-on luggage when he was returning from a family vacation by private jet in July, according to SPA magazine via a Bloomberg report. They were picked up by a security scan and officials insisted he give them up. Jobs apparently took umbrage at the request, arguing, quite logically, that it was hardly a security risk as he was unlikely to hijack his own plane. When officials refused to budge, he apparently threw the death stars away - presumably very slowly so as not to kill anyone - and declared he would not return to the country. 17. You plug one of these (or similar) into the 4 pin socket 4 pin gives you 4 connectors (2 independent wires per ear, which can be connected as required) . you can also wire this to a 3 pin trs (shared ground/return) - but you can't do this the other way round. which was the whole point in re-terminating the stock cable, which is already 4 conductor for its whole length up to the stock end. Terminate with a 4 pin xlr + then you can add which ever end termination / adaption you want, rather than have to get a new single function terminated cable for each configuration. Make sense?

  20. Why not just re-terminate the stock HD800 cables with a 4 pin xlr adapter + then make (re use) the single ended + add 2 x 3 pin xlr ends? like some other people have done.
