  1. Care to expand / explain? CMCM.TV had the right of first broadcast (hence no posting on youtube prior to broadcast). As producers of the show we own the copyright. Cast / crew signed the appropriate waivers. Archive.org clips are creative commons / fair use.
  2. Well, after the fun of The Bushy Report launch party, now that it has been broadcast we can put it up on youtube. So we have. In Three Parts. Should I go Alan Smithee on it? How did they make me do this? Why is everyone having so much fun? Could it be the cocktails? For Best Results, imagine you are watching it at 11PM on a Saturday Night. (be thankful I didn't embed the videos )

Strong latest episode (S17E03). Automotive pr0n, awesome location shoot, Jeremy's answer to Al's observed conundrum of Clarkson in German, interesting challenge. Whats not to like?

  7. The optical and coax S/PDIF out work out the box. The USB out , well , if your're happy reconfiguring linux using ssh , then follow the instructions at the start of this 20+ page thread and let us know how you get on. (Assuming of course you've done a double bind test, before hand , to see if its worth it to you ) EDIT: The same instructions are presented in a step by step (with screenshots) here: http://www.digitalaudioreview.net.au/index.php/news-blog-and-showcase/john-darkos-blog/item/150-how-to-enable-usb-audio-output-on-the-squeezebox-touch

  13. I'm always on the look out for new Drivers Drink's . Hopefully they are better than the Bloody Boring (Tomato Juice + Tomato Juice)
  14. Al, Glad you made it to München, and there were cocktails to help!. It appears they have Segway tours there as well. If you ever do manage to leave the hotel, in our much younger days, Joanne and I enjoyed ice skating on the Olympic Rink, The obligatory trip up the TV Tower (Germany's tallest) for the view, and The BMW HQ/Museum/Factory tour. I remember it winding up some UK BMW fanboi's who would have killed to visit there, only for Joanne to complain that "I dragged her round there". The Deutsches Museum was a geek highlight, where I got to sit on a Cray-1, and admire the burst of innovation in Aeronautics during 1939-45

1-Year Subscription to Stereophile Magazine for free FreeBizMag offers a 1-Year Subscription to Stereophile Magazine for free after filling out a short survey. Went through the survey, said no thanks to all the "focused" email spam / other magazines they offered. No credit card details were asked for - so looks like I'm set up for the dead tree edition for the next 12 months

  25. The FAQ http://schiit.com/schiit-faq/about-bifrost/ makes fun, interesting reading indeed. Some debunking of specsmanship (e.g real world SNR < 24 bits , even on a 32 bit Dac ) I like their take on "MOAR (non original) samples is not necessarily better" Interesting to see how they perform (sound/measure ) when these turn up, and the "Other" Dacs Jason mentioned " 1. Specs/etc for other DACs? Nope, not much more info there, sorry, except to note they are definitely separate models, rather than improvements on Asgard. Both will be in larger chassis. The top end one I really can't talk about because I was serious about redefining everything. 2. S/N, etc--Mr.Scary, we're VERY conservative about all of our specs. Don't judge a product by a single quantitative number. Bifrost is going to scare the heck out of people, sound-wise. The others--well, it's a whole new world, isn't it? "
