  1. Interesting consult with a Rheumatologist today regarding my embiggened knee. Physical Therapy, now started, is working well to improve range of motion (better numbers at end of session vs at start) plus I have some home torture exercises to work on. To date Orthopedic Surgeon has recommended Orthopedic Surgery (Quelle Surprise! ) Rheumatologist said runaway as fast as you can and mentioned some controlled trials that show no statistical differences in outcomes between surgery / placebo surgery and no surgery (maybe this, this, this or this?)Interesting fault finding/root cause analysis given site specific nature and lack of other joints affected ... Meanwhile, direct injection of anti-inflammatory to the knee, and various blood test ordered. I counted 10 vials when they drew the blood. Lets see what next week and the results bring ....

  9. Back in the US in time for my (N)MRI thanks to a "a state-of-the-art General Electric GE Signa® HDe 1.5T Scanner" Closed scanner, but it was only my embiggened right knee they were imaging, so I went in feet first, and my head stayed outside. Nice relaxing half hour rest while I was forced to wear some no name headphones ear protectors and listen to what sounded like bad early experimental electronic music ( but was just the magnetic coils getting exited, and relaxed ). Review of the imagery first thing Monday. Lets see if we can get a better diagnosis than "non specific inflammation" I'd be happy with being pain free and a return to normal function.
  10. Shelly do they have roundabouts / traffic circles where you are? When no one else is around see if you can get the traction/stability control active light to come on, on the dashboard ... (Note: it helps if the car has such systems installed ) I managed it a few times in the UK. Saying the phrase "POWERRRR!" Seems to help
