More Physiotherapy. Today, among other things, we worked on separating quadriceps adhesion's by some fairly vigorous manipulation. Quote of the day: "This is hurting, isn't it?" uh-huh.

Dell Venue 8 ? http://www.dell.com/us/p/dell-venue-8-pro/pd or 11? http://www.dell.com/us/p/dell-venue-11-pro/pd (don't forget case / bluetooth keyboard / mouse) Pro: Real windows 8.1 Tablet Skype Microsoft Office Con: Real windows 8.1 Tablet Get it from somewhere with a good return policy so you can trial it, and return it if doesn't meet your needs. My mother is doing well with her iPad, transitioning form her windows laptop. Sister and brother-in-law provide local tech support, and they have one too, so they know / can show her hoe to do things. The "instant on" nature of tablets is a big win, as it eliminates the frustration related to waiting for things to boot / start up, that acted as a disincentive to trying things, and the whole anti-virus / installing update hassle. Not to mention using a printer ... She's getting pretty good at Skyping, We're even onto positioning / camera angles (I don't want to look up your nose), and the advantage diffuse even lighting vs high contrast lighting ( don't have a lamp behind you, or have the ceiling lamp in frame). Its good to see the sense of accomplishment she has, and interesting to see, as a non expert, what terminology she use to describe things, and the nature of her interaction with a new concrete interface, even though the abstract task is the same as before.

Listening now. Sharing mixlr app on iPad -> Apple TV stuttered/rebuffered every 10 seconds, but mirroring the mixlr web page from a MacBook worked. Technology eh?

Today started well, being treated to a by an elderly friend as a late birthday gift. Then later, joined a work colleague to celebrate his wife's birthday at a local eating spot. On parting, quote of the evening, from one of his wife's friends, a fellow aficionado (unprompted) "Thank you for showing me your bacon porn"

Power back on after about an hour. Plenty of chocolate left.

Listening in the dark (due to a power outage). It's fine here.

Total power outage at the apartment complex. But since all the IT kit (server, router, cable modem) has their own UPS I can listen to knucks via mixlr on the iPad by remote controlled LED (fake) candlelight. It's not the Zombie Apocalypse, as Kentfield is still illuminated. At least some things work And we've just had a robo call from PG&E with a current estimated fix of 11pm. Neighbors are over for wine and chocolates. Plenty of diet coke in stock. Tea might be tricky. At least it's not snowing.

The third party (triode's) spotify plugin allows you to stream from server + sync multiple SB clients - access (spotify) playlists + control from iPeng Will MOG allow you to export all that "value" you added to their system for you .... A lesson for relying on any "closed" service. what's your music listening continuity plan for when they wink out of existence?
