  1. Read to me personally by the Author.
  2. RIP Vin Scully 94. I was never a Doger fan but growing up in SoCal, I was a fan of listening to Vin. Edit - "..you think about the great great players, none of them were any better at what they did than Vin Scully was at what he did." - Bob Costas
  3. Okay it is only FB funny, but I still thought it was funny.
  4. Not to break up the yacht club. Mahler: Symphony No. 4 Berliner Philharmoniker, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Christiane Karg 2021 https://album.link/t/192090136 No example, but you can check it out on your streaming service. You do have a streaming service, don't you? Don't You? I don't know this piece that well, but I really like it. Lovely melodies and flow. I will check out some classic performances of this as well. I have always had mixed feelings of Mahler's work; some are just too much of nothing, and others not enough.
  5. ^^ this. I normally put things on that people post to check it out (for a few seconds or a track), and if I like it, I put it in my queue for later listening. This one just stayed on. Thanks Jose.
  6. Exiles Max Richter, Baltic Sea Philharmonic, Kristjan Järvi 2021 https://album.link/i/1571131917 Example: If you like the style, you like the style, I like the style.
  7. NOT TiGHT DOMi & JD BECK 2022 https://album.link/i/1629568944 I don't normally have album anticipation, but this is one of the few times I have. It is not officially released until the 29th, but Tidal thinks it is tomorrow. I have been following these jazz kids for a while and they just released their first album. They have some heavy backing with Herbie Hancock and Anderson .Paak. They have a unique sound with DOMi laying down the lead and bass with JD doing something new on drums. People talk about the future of Jazz and a JD Beck sound. Regardless, it is a diverse and enjoyable album. It will be interesting to watch them develop.
  8. I forgot John Williams did all these. Why did I forget? I don't know. I will remember from now on. Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets/ Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Harry Potter Soundtrack 2002 https://album.link/i/89288192 Example: Good themes - played well - recorded well.
  9. Caramba! Lee Morgan 1968 https://album.link/i/724256045 Example: Another good Hot day album.
  10. Cheers Antonio - Happy Birthdays -
  11. Buena Vista Social Club (25th Anniversary Edition) Buena Vista Social Club 1997 https://album.link/i/1569844173 Example: Warm day? not much fits the bill better than Cuban.
  12. Love Is Here To Stay Tony Bennett, Diana Krall 2018 https://album.link/i/1417536790 Example: I am usually not the biggest fan of these types of albums (and this is not really an exception), roll out an old crony and croak through some standards. While I probably will not listen to the album again, I might play a few tracks (like above) now and then. One thing that these types of sessions bring out, is some of the best recording engineering. This album sounds Amazing (not with the YT compression), Diana's playing is great, super detail for the instruments and voices. Some future system sound checks tracks.
  13. Interested in hearing how the show is (in the round), I am considering a show later this year. I went years ago with DOTU in SF and it was pretty amazeballs.
  14. Desmond Blue Paul Desmond (w/strings) 1962 https://album.link/i/525880811 Example (one of the Autumn Leaves): Pretty Album
  15. I thought it was excellent. Actually, thought of you when I posted. It will go into rotation. So... The Warriors Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Various Artists 1979 https://album.link/i/1440719125 The walsh: The rest of the soundtrack is very '79
  16. Ex:Re with 12 Ensemble Ex:Re, Josephine Stephenson, 12 Ensemble 2021 https://album.link/i/1550158368 Example:
  17. ^^ I can enjoy some non-Dio Rainbow. For You Alone Håkon Kornstad 2021 https://album.link/i/1574910730 Example: This was had to classify for me. Traditional songs (jazz) with a classical singer. Regardless, I really enjoyed it.
  18. Alive 2007 Daft Punk 2007 https://album.link/i/717067737 Example: When it is hot - Rock on.
  19. Digging the pre-Asia project -- U.K. U.K. U.K. 1978 https://album.link/i/724148107 Example (part of a longer track): John Wetton, Bill Bruford, Eddie Jobson and Allan Holdsworth.
  20. ETY•Plugs® Earplugs (etymotic.com)
  21. Turn Up The Quiet Diana Krall 2017 https://album.link/i/1440880927 Example: One of the few albums I didn't own by her. It is good, a little overshadowed in my head by the other great albums. But it will go into my Diana Rotation. Edit - I just noticed the mcintosh turntable mt10 on the table with her. Spinning some Ella and Duke Verve wax. No idea where the speakers are.
  22. Debussy: Préludes du 2e Livre, La Mer (transc. Debussy) Alexander MelnikovOlga Pashchenko 2018 https://album.link/i/1612794541 Example:
  23. Not boring at all. I have gone back and forth between Revolver and Rubber Soul over the years. I like the innovations in both with Rubber being the start of some and Revolver being the refinement of others. Midnight Ludovico Einaudi 2021 https://album.link/i/1561676390 Example: After seeing his Tiny Desk Concert, the other day I had to go back and listen to some of the other albums. This is one that I like, and I would use an extended version to relax to while I would work.
