Charles Mingus Presents Charles Mingus (Remastered) Charles Mingus 1960 https://album.link/i/1610350703 Example: Good performance. But also made him sound like kind of a dick. Don't applaud, don't make any noise, just sit there and shut up and listen we are busy up here.

RIP Hache - been waiting for this one after hearing the extent of her crash. I remember her fondly from the likable, but over the top, Six Days Seven Nights. Sad for family.

Superunknown (20th Anniversary) - I chose not to go with the Super Delux 4h:15m version. Soundgarden 1994 https://album.link/i/1440811129 Example (hard not to just post spoonman): A lot to like about this album...

A lot of my 80's were ruled by Olivia. I watched Xanadu (thanks for the clip G) countless times. The blend of her and ELO was magic to me. RIP Olivia You are suspended in time.

The Dune Sketchbook (Music from the Soundtrack) Hans Zimmer 2021 https://album.link/i/1580377303 Example: Intense but very good listen.

Connections Matthew Whitaker 2021 https://album.link/i/1574793651 Example: I went into this one blind. I thought I heard or heard-of Matthew before (this is where Al will say - yes, we went to an SF Jazz show, and we met him - I can accept that). But I went in pretty blind, and at first, I was not sure. It felt like it was a little bit out there and a touch out of control, but then the songs just kept coming, 16 of them for almost an hour and a half. It started to feel more like a jam session (or a series of them). And they were all over the place, standards (like the Rondo above), to heavy groove tracks. I queued it up again before I began this post, and I don't have any reservations that I had before. This will go into rotation.

Somewhere Different Brandee Younger 2021 https://album.link/i/1572278902 Example: New Artist for me. Jazz Harp, you say? Well okay then. Enjoyed the album, a nice vocal track in the middle. Had a Chuck Mangione vibe for me, that I liked. I will check out her other work.

I guess I could have posted in the What are you Listening to thread, it does not say music only. 🤷♂️

RIP Vin Scully 94. I was never a Doger fan but growing up in SoCal, I was a fan of listening to Vin. Edit - "..you think about the great great players, none of them were any better at what they did than Vin Scully was at what he did." - Bob Costas

Okay it is only FB funny, but I still thought it was funny. -
Not to break up the yacht club. Mahler: Symphony No. 4 Berliner Philharmoniker, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Christiane Karg 2021 https://album.link/t/192090136 No example, but you can check it out on your streaming service. You do have a streaming service, don't you? Don't You? I don't know this piece that well, but I really like it. Lovely melodies and flow. I will check out some classic performances of this as well. I have always had mixed feelings of Mahler's work; some are just too much of nothing, and others not enough.

^^ this. I normally put things on that people post to check it out (for a few seconds or a track), and if I like it, I put it in my queue for later listening. This one just stayed on. Thanks Jose.
