Finally catching up to this in my queue. Screen Violence CHVRCHES 2021 Example: Agreed - solid album

RIP Queen Elizabeth - you did reign with distinction and class.

Rather than watch the apple event I spent an hour and a half listening to prog. You decide what is a better use of time. Innocence & Danger The Neal Morse Band 2021 https://album.link/i/1570081572 I have followed Neal for many years. I really liked Spock's Beard back in the day and he also started his own project. But he also had a higher calling, and the music suffered in content and quality. I am happy with this 2021 album, there are some great jams, some great themes, and a 31 minute track (above). I won't call this a return to roots, or classic Neal, because I think all music should look forward and evolve. But I like this album.

^^ this thx https://album.link/i/1470493720 I had no idea what it could be - and it was better than any thoughts I could have had. Classical and traditional playing with vocal elements now and then, very live feel and being well recorded.

I will add it to my Libby app (library) when it becomes available. The question is - do I want to have him read it to me?

Composed in Color Isaiah J. Thompson 2021 https://album.link/i/1590017099 Example: Good Piano Jazz.

I have learned to appreciate the technique in the last few years. Now, it is about finding singers that can sing and scream, but the real trick for me is enunciation. If I can understand the screamed words without following along with printed lyrics (taking me out of the listening), then I can stay in the groove and get the message at the same time. And you are correct, 'good' screaming uses false folds and do not harm vocal cords.

Wallflowers Jinjer 2021 https://album.link/i/1569867454 Example: I really appreciate her enunciation while screaming with the contrast to her strong singing voice. Keeps me very engaged.

Good sound, and these kids play tight for not looking at each other at all. I wanted a longer set.

Been a while since I listened to this... so. Be Here Now (Deluxe Remastered Edition) Oasis 1997 https://album.link/i/1523139329 Example: 25 years - dang. I don't know how much I will go back to this, but I liked listening to it again. It has the white noise with a beat and loud singing vibe that I can get into. Kind of a Beatles Helter Skelter vibe, but for a whole album. And then for something completely different. Hoa (Original Soundtrack) Johannes Johansson 2022 https://album.link/i/1626128595 Example: Just lovely. Everything that you would expect from an piano based Anime Soundtrack. But it just happens to be for a game not a movie.

Motion Sick Pip Millett 2021 https://album.link/i/1570669902 Example: An R&B EP from a new UK singer. Overall I liked it, the groves are good and the voice is there. I will keep an eye on them.

Speaking of pop, I have been listening to a new artist to me, OSTON. She has been putting out a series of short albums over the last few years. Gives me a good Dodie feel and some Lorde, etc. Just Finished both of these. Am I Talking Too Much? OSTON 2021 https://album.link/i/1577449646 I'm Definitely Talking Too Much OSTON 2021 https://album.link/i/1590055069 Catchy well produced but not over produced (there are only a few writers).

RIP Matt -- condolences Brent...

Over all I like the vibe of it. New to me. Let us know if there is something else in the catalog to check out, that is on your list. Also new to me. Negative Act of Denial 2021 https://album.link/i/1575238753 Example: Melodic Death Metal. I didn't know I need this in my life, now I do. Kind of a Metal supergroup from a collection of good players.

Love is an Art Vanessa Carlton 2020 https://album.link/i/1491832112 Example: So this song came up the other day - As it does in life: And it is still an awesome bop. So it got me wondering what is up with Vanessa these days. Still making music. She had a 2020 release (above). It was a good listen. I enjoyed the playing and the production a lot. It would be interesting to go see her with just a piano and keyboard setup.

So I came across this EP in my queue (I have a lot of things in my Q) Sola Melissa Parmenter 2021 I liked it - which led me to her last Album: Messapica Melissa Parmenter 2020 https://album.link/i/1526705693 Example: The Albums only problems is that it is short. Delicate pieces with lovely melody and structure. And then I just played the next thing in the queue - just happen to be another short album. Mendelssohn: Symphony No. 4 in A Major, Op. 90, MWV N 16 "Italian" Orpheus Chamber Orchestra 2021 https://album.link/i/1570823392 Example - People like the first movement - I like the last: A very good modern performance. It may not be my go to for this work, but it good.
