  1. Okay - everybody... Just slow your roll..... The Art Of Tea Michael Franks 1976 https://album.link/i/484683051 Example: I didn't know how much I needed my roll slowed until I listened to this album this afternoon. Well recorded and smooth in the vein of Steely Dan. I'm good now... ... and with lyrics like this (from Eggplant): "When my baby cooks her eggplant She don't read no book She's got a Gioconda kinda of dirty look And my baby cooks her eggplant About 19 different ways Sometimes I just have it raw with mayonnaise" I am not sure what he is talking about, but I am pretty sure it is not eggplant. And the album has the now jazz standard of Popsicle Toes.
  2. Cheers Bryan - I hope you have a great birthday and the whiskey flows. Happy Birthday
  3. Lost In The New Real Arjen Anthony Lucassen 2012 https://album.link/i/1045223147 Example: Still a little distracted by the album cover (looks like Thomas Dolby album to me). One of his few solo efforts, it carries all the hallmarks of Arjen's work. An hour and a half of a big story to tell us something simple. Enjoyable.
  4. Cheers team, and to the overseas folks, happy Thursday.
  5. In answer to the question. What if you took the Star Wars universe and told a real story? Well you get Rogue One (watch it!), and you get this. Worthy.
  6. Back the Way We Came: Vol. 1 (2011 - 2021) Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds 2021 https://album.link/i/1561288142 Example: So I was watching the Roger Waters video (in another thread) about a bunch of musicians signing a guitar. And Noel Gallagher popped up. Hmmm Noel Gallagher, Noel Gallagher sounds familiar. Quick tidal search and I get Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. Ah that guy from Oasis. Let's see what he has been up to. Turns out, pretty good stuff if you like his stuff. Turns out, it is stuff I like.
  7. Cheers Jeff - Happy Birthdays
  8. Rory Gallagher (50th Anniversary Edition / Super Deluxe) Rory Gallagher 1971 https://album.link/i/1557237649 Example: A very solid classic Album. Now, I have not finished the 3.5 hours of this version of the album. But, enough to know that the boy could play, and was taken too young (47).
  9. Dear America Eric Bibb 2021 https://album.link/i/1600469612 Example: Sunday Blues - and happy about it. A good dynamic album by Bibb. Plays with sounds and vibes all the time.
  10. Cheers JP -- Wishing you a great Birthday --
  11. Mirror Mirror Eliane Elias, Chick Core, Chucho Valdés 2021 https://album.link/i/1611484601 Example: One of Chick's last recordings, and I really like it. An elegant recording of the three of them with lovely melodies and interactions. I get the sense of them recording a set piece and playing with each other at the same time, with lots of exploration in the longer works.
  12. RIP Fred, I read Mythical Man-Month Back in the 80's and was familiar with Brook's Law (not to be confused with Burke's Law) when I started working in the industry in the 90s.
  13. ^^ Sent me on a look for new music. I had not looked in a while because my queue is too full. But I found this new one: Live At The Bon Soir Barbra Streisand 2022 https://album.link/i/1644193183 Example: One of several that I could have posted from this album. I really enjoyed this mostly raw performance of show tunes and standards. Hard to think of this as a 20 years old Barbara, belting out songs and giggling in-between while talking with the band.
  14. RGIrSx4.mp4 Am I helping?
  15. Mad science shit... I got it mostly dialed in. But after pulling six double shots, sampling them all and drinking two of them completely, I am buzzed...
  16. All kinds of win in that photo set. enjoy my friend.
  17. Thx Ric - I missed it live. They could learn from spacex about better camera system to take us along for the ride, but that thing was sure hauling the mail.
  18. Mahler: Symphony No. 4 in G Major Kathleen Battle, Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Lorin Maazel 1990 [um... Nope it was 1984] https://album.link/i/212232536 Example (w/Kathleen): Just a very good recording and performance. Back when DDD was a big deal. I do have a preference towards the earlier Mahler.
  19. Live stream on twitch or youtube?
  20. Sorry the invite must have went into my spam folder.. (looks good though)
  21. Cheers Dinny, Happy Birthday --
  22. yup - tastes over extracted.. 😁 The flow rate was very low. As much as I like nerdy details, I am only about the taste. Ed: removed pick.
  23. Latte #2, I changed some settings, but one of them in the wrong direction. I went too fine with the grind, so the extraction went too long, over 40 seconds. But still a good cup of Joe. And I have plenty of time to dial it in. {and yes there are some bubbles, and I don't really do art}
  24. Recuerdos Augustin Hadelich 2022 https://album.link/i/1636275777 Example: A nice mix of Britten, Prokofiev and Pablo de Sarasate. Well recorded and performed.
  25. I never use to do car spotting before Grahame. but yesterday. A lucid with driver and paper plates. Downtown Seattle.
