  1. Thanks again for all your support and generosity. NFLO! I really liked the shirt design that we had this year. It was a 'chance of rain' type of day, like normal around here. But we had a nice gathering, lovely sharing and connection with the community, and then a nice 2.8 mile walk around Green Lake. We hope to continue to make it grow and involve more partners. And continue to share the idea that 'We believe in a world where everyone belongs.” Cheers and thanks, Mikey 🙏 https://givebutter.com/Walk4Belonging
  2. RIP a lot of images in this (and other) threads. My big loss of images is that I made the mistake of using photobucket back in the day.
  3. New to me: For The Sake Of The Rhyme Madison Cunningham 2018 https://album.link/i/1455275366 Example: I really enjoyed the blues and strong voice. And it seems that they have something to say. It was only 25 minutes, so I moved on to the second 2018 release - much more in the acoustic side. Love, Lose, Remember Madison Cunningham 2018 https://album.link/i/1219398671 Example: Added to my artist list and will check out recent releases.
  4. Because reasons. Happy Moods Ahmad Jamal 1960 https://album.link/i/1443907095 Example: Sad, but this helps. RIP and thanks Ahmad.
  5. I can confirm it is upside down. I saw a documentary. Thanks for the additional support team. We are getting closer to our goals with the walk this coming Saturday. We will be having a busy week getting everything ready from t-shirts to raffles, information tables and herding cats. Cheers. With gratitude - Mikey.
  6. If The Moon Turns Green Diana Panton 2011 https://album.link/i/1443526888 Example: Lovely female jazz voice. I have been away from jazz vocals for a while. I think I need a little more in my life. This did nicely.
  7. Cheers Jeffy - {pro hugs} Happy Burthday
  8. We Get Requests Oscar Peterson Trio 1964 https://album.link/i/1443078246 Example: You know, it is just required listening now and then. Still strikes me as one of the most beautiful jazz albums ever made. Just overhearing it for a few seconds compels me to cue up the album and 40 minutes later, I am happier than I started that time. Thx Oscar and friends.
  9. The Myth of The Happily Ever After Biffy Clyro 2021 https://album.link/i/1582831319 Example: Scottish rockers be rocking. I liked the album mix a lot.
  10. When We Leave Mathias Eick 2021 https://album.link/i/1581086524 Example: A really nice set. I am not sure I know Mathias before this. He has a pile of albums out there. I will have to explore and see what I like out of the batch.
  11. At first I thought this might be a Milo & Otis thing. But, I can say that any workplace relationship can be tricky and everyone needs to tread lightly, but in the end you are two humans being humans. As long as everyone's eyes are open (within reason), follow the feelings. cheers
  12. ^^ as soon as he said Toronto, I was out.
  13. One Tomahawk Rib Eye please, and one to go. Did I get the job? {good luck Brent}
  14. Color me interested and meh at the same time.
  15. A Tiny Desk showing me why I like Tiny Desk so much.
  16. Songbird Eva Cassidy 1998 https://album.link/i/306987130 Example: Songbird indeed. Perfect Sunday starter. Her arraignments and phrasing were really exceptional. Sad we only had her for 33 years.
  17. Fly From Here: Return Trip Yes 2011 https://album.link/i/1490150422 Example: 20th out of 23 (one is about to be released) studio album. I kind of dropped off Yes, (well, new Yes) about 10+ years ago. I guess I was more into the band line-up (this one does not have Jon Anderson) than I was just about the music. So, I gave this one a spin (click) and I really enjoyed it. I just took it for what is there. It starts out with a six part song (clip of it as example) that I really enjoyed. The rest of the album is a bit mixed, nothing bad, just ranges from really good to okay. I will try the other two newer albums at some point (2014 and 2021). It is not so much I am running towards them, I am not actively running away from them anymore.
  18. Some more George: All Things Must Pass (50th Anniversary) George Harrison 1970 https://album.link/i/1670732500 Example: Good to just listen to now and then.
  19. Hey HC Team, Thanks again for all the support last year for our 2nd chance walk fundraiser. We raised just over $10,000, which was amazing! The event and walk were just lovely. We had a break in the weather and had a great day. Engaging with the community and sharing our vision of 'a world where everyone belongs.' We are back at it again. We have renamed our walk (and new logo) the - Walk for Belonging - walk4belonging - as a part of April's Second Chance Month. I continue to work as a member of the Board of Directors for Communities of Belonging as the Secretary/Treasurer - as well as the defacto IT and figure-it-out person. We just recently launched our new website, after about 5 months of redesign. CommunitiesofBelonging.org (let me know if you find anything wonky) I am proud of the work that we are doing. We are really helping people bridge the gap and re-enter society after a bout of homelessness, incarceration or addiction. We hope to continue to grow and help as many people as we can. If you are willing and have the means to help me out, I would be most humble for your generosity, as I have in the past. You can donate without registering for the walk: https://givebutter.com/Walk4Belonging/michaelmaddock Cheers all, Mikey (back to listening to music, and all the other things)
  20. ^ indeed, they are better albums. Get Back (Rooftop Performance) The Beatles 2022 https://album.link/t/213891547 Example: Nice to just listen to the entire set.
  21. It does seem to popcorn a bit, but I guess a minor issue.
  22. Protection Massive Attack 1994 https://album.link/i/724410562 Example: Another killer album.
