  1. I finally got around to listening to this this morning. Nicely done. - thx
  2. So, I was thinking about listening to some new prog. So, I added a few things released this year to my playlist. So, I might have bit off a bit more than I can chew. So, I will let y'all know.
  3. First Season of I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson. It is a sketch show with episodes only about 16 min. Some funny stuff in there:
  4. Cheers Justine - Happy Birthday this year too -
  5. New Standards Vol. 1 Terri Lyne Carrington 2022 https://album.link/i/1635218059 Example: Terri Lyne and crew putting down a set of great tracks. Collabing with a bunch of people and vocalists. It really wraps this up into a satisfying album, mixing instrumentals with songs. And a nice groove.
  6. https://album.link/i/464330321 Way Down Deep David Grissom 2011 Me: The Music of Wayne Shorter Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Wayne Shorter, Wynton Marsalis 2020 https://album.link/i/1492163211 Example: A great celebration of Wayne with a full band.
  7. I have the privilege of making my own delicious hand rolls. 🍣
  8. I am lucky enough and old enough to have seen the ones that I would like to see, back in the day (save OMD - I didn't make it to that one).
  9. otoro and salmon goodness
  10. square = ready for IG.
  11. Catching up a bit on the notables. I have of course been listening to music, but just not posting. So a few things I liked. All Your Life: A Tribute to the Beatles Al Di Meola 2013 https://album.link/i/1564096794 Example: So to answer the question, do we need another Beatles tribute album? AbsaFuckingLootly. When it is our Friend Al. It is more like you are just sitting down with him and he is just jamming and picking on some Beatles tunes. Which I guess he is. Very enjoyable. And not too many demands on the royal ear. The Dharma Wheel Howlin Rain 2021 https://album.link/i/1574474906 Example: Need some 70's rock in a modern package? Have I got a deal for you. New to me, and I want to explore. Pretty straight forward, other than some monster works that rock hard. LIVE Chick Corea Akoustic Band 2019 https://album.link/i/1548821481 Example: Not much to say - it is just so good. Just a killer set. Hodges: Front and Center, Vol. 1 Owen Broder 2022 https://album.link/i/1689273550 Example: New to me - but put together a really nice set. Ears and eyes open for me. Reckless Morgan Wade 2021 https://album.link/i/1578973602 Example: I first heard Morgan in December, and I was hooked on her voice. Well her first album backed that up. Strong vocals, and some powerful messages. There are a few more mainstream in there, but it was a rewarding album. Okay think that I am caught up. - Back to listening.
  12. Cheers Kerry- Wishing you a Great Birthday...
  13. Okay AudioGodDelusion, I don't think that you are really contributing anything anymore.
  14. ^^ very cool - I thought it might be outrageously priced. But it is not that bad out in the market, thanks DG for not making it too exclusive. I am not familiar that recording. But thanks to discogs and a little research there is a version of this on TIDAL that I can at least check out (not saying it will be anything like 180g release) the performance. And it starts me thinking of various DG recordings that I would like original source versions (hello Karajan).
  15. The Extra Something (Live) Enrico Pieranunzi 2022 https://album.link/i/1610595183 Example: A nice set. On the jazzy side of Jazz. Really went with my evening.
  16. this - from another thread - thx Ric.
  17. Test post to see how the forum handles the Tak Tik: (Ed: looks like it works - sound on)
  18. One of the Library's missions is to preserve audio-visual materials. Library employees who work at the National Audio-Visual Conservation Center (NAVCC) in Culpeper, Virginia carry out that mission on a daily basis. One of the formats they work with is old 78 RPM records like this one. Standardization practices weren't what they are today in the early part of the 20th century, so each disc is an adventure. The grooves can be different sizes, and some discs have spindle holes that were punched off-center, meaning adjustments have to be made so it can play properly. This is a quick look at the process of digitizing the audio so that it can be preserved and made more accessible to Library patrons like you! It features Library audio preservation specialist Bryan Hoffa. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CtNSRL9gi0f/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== I tried to find a forum friendly version to share - but it is just a short watch..
  19. Fenster Fidan Aghayeva-Edler 2022 https://album.link/i/1638350626 Example: Modern and dynamic. The works are atonal in nature, so not everyone's cuppa. I have worked over the years to be able to listen through the rough parts of music and find the resolutions. It is work, but satisfying in the end.
  20. What a great set and a lot of fun.
  21. Marlene Dietrich At the Cafe De Paris - Live Recording 1954 Marlene Dietrich 2010 https://album.link/i/370312817 Example: An interesting collection of mostly live tunes. I can here now that this was an inspiration for Madeline Kahn in Blazing Saddles. I still see her as an actress, but she was also a performer.
  22. What Is Love? (Deluxe Edition) Clean Bandit 2018 https://album.link/i/1436738680 Maybe not the highest brow tunes - but it works on a Saturday night. I think that the album made it into my queue after watching a Kenrick Sound video at some point showing off some pretty JBL speakers. I liked the production and jumpy Jamaican feel. So, I listened to them and I was like, cool. Wonder if they are popular? Oh, only 7.69 Billion views on the youtubes. So, I guess they are doing okay without my streaming numbers. Anyway, I thought it was fun. {back into my hole}
  23. Inspired by Greyhymm
  24. Wow - that makes me really sad. He was the soundtrack for a portion of my life. More listening to do for reasons...
