  1. You know. I think I kind of forgot how big this stuff was. And how much I liked the music. I bought the soundtrack at the time. Especially liked tracks like: Same video, but queued to - Caoineadh Cú Chulainn - Davy Spillane. Now my recommendations are going to be filled with this stuff. Oh well - worth it.
  2. Some Kumamoto and Pacific
  3. Celebration, Volume 1 by Wayne Shorter (2024) https://album.link/i/1752553726 Example: "Celebration, Volume 1 is the first in a series of releases that saxophonist and composer Wayne Shorter curated from archival material before his passing in 2023. The album features his long-running band—Panamanian pianist Danilo Perez, bassist John Patitucci, and drummer Brian Blade—in a live 2014 performance recorded at the Stockholm Concert Hall in Sweden." Nice to have the first in a series of good recordings of the late Wayne. This one features a lot of the Zero Gravity works. Good stuff.
  4. From St Marks in SF. I was not familiar with Ana's work, seeming to come out of nowhere. Turns out a prodigy and recorded in the 90's and early 2000s. And then just recently a PSAudio recording - for $58! Ouch. I will live with the YT compression for now. Nice selection and recording, and I liked Ana's performance.
  5. True by Jon Anderson (2024) https://album.link/i/1747342740 Example: Released on Friday. At first I was curious what it was. As a fan I was afraid it was be a 79 (yes he is 79) year old croaking through songs. It was far from that. Jon is in full voice, mature voice, but lovely. The tunes were very engaging. The Band Geeks, pretty much are Yes fans that are really good musicians. And they seem to be touring..
  6. The soundtrack that I didn't know I needed. Albert Brooks: Defending My Life (Original Documentary Soundtrack) by Marc Shaiman (2024) https://album.link/i/1762914489 Exmaple: Most of it is a variation of this ^^ I'm fine with that. Works well while I am cooking... :}
  7. 1. The Amazing Pudding (Early name for Atom Heart Mother) - 0:53 2. Cymbaline - 17:31 3. Grantchester Meadows - 26:11 4. Green Is The Colour - 33:46 5. Careful With That Axe, Eugene - 37:16 6. Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun - 46:26 7. Astronomy Domine - 59:18

    Top Gear

    There is Top Gear - Florida Edition.
  10. Blackstar by David Bowie (2016) https://album.link/i/1676286487 Example: It was so easy to overlook that this was the legendary Bowie, in his late 60's, dying of cancer. I got lost very quickly in it just being a really good album. Thanks David.
  11. I am not sure how I missed this one, but RIP Peter Higgs (April 8th) @ 94 I was watching some programs on gravity and particle physics, as I do, and they mentioned it. I guess I was distracted by the Eclipse and OJ at the time. A pillar in the fundamental understanding of our universe and the standard model. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Higgs If he now knows the structure of the universe, I wish there was a way for him to tell us.
  12. Cheers Matt the Younger. I do hope you are truly resting in peace.
  13. hmmm - another Fosse joint?
  14. Ladies Of The Canyon by Joni Mitchell (1970) https://album.link/i/1492312524 Example: ^^ not one of the hits off this album, but I really like this one. Not that Woodstock isn't awesome. This is a really good album, not great but the highlights are very high.
  15. RIP - Greg Kihn, You may not have known him by name - like me - but I did know his work.
  16. Also, if you had an Etsy store - you would sell out!
  17. What's old, is new again.
  18. RIP, Gena Rowlands @ 94, https://apnews.com/article/gena-rowlands-dead-7c5b10d7a3544200987a57238afc6a37 I have watched many of her works, and was always captivated.

  22. So I finally got around to this: Animals by Pink Floyd (1977 - 2018 Remix) https://album.link/i/1631582682 Example: I have listened to it twice now along with the original below. I am a little torn on it because I have listened to the original so much that I look for (listen for) certain things. Little fades, microdynamics, stereo interplay, reflections (real or created). It is why I can use tracks like Pigs to set up a speaker system, and align it for the best 3d soundstage. When that gets disturbed, it throws me off. And in some ways I am not listening to the music anymore I am listening to the differences. To be clear this is a remix not a remaster. So I understand it is not just suppose to be just a good sounding version. Does it sound good? Hell yeah, the instruments are more separated, identifiable in the mix. The keyboards are brought forward in the mix, like that. And the bass has a concert level rumble that I have rarely ever heard before on any album, impressive. and in the mix... Animals by Pink Floyd (1977) https://album.link/i/1065974284 Example: Just in case you want to compare using that sweet sweet Youtube Compression. Great album. Did they need to touch it? Probably not. Am I glad they touched it? Probably. The real question will be. Going forward when I want to listen to Animals, which one will I pick? I don't know, but I will be interested to find out.
  23. legend... I do like me a well engineered album... he made many...
