I'll have to give it a shot, when I have time.

It's pretty wonderful.

Do you think there is much benefit in the more complicated version of the mod? I have cork and felt, so I could certainly make the "resonators."

Monkey did pretty well with his 2001, in the first ep of this season's Top Gear.

I thought episode 2 was pretty darned good. Rory is great, but having Harris and LeBlanc be the two main hosts works pretty darned well, as they really do have good chemistry. I love the boys, but I didn't care for The Grand Tour, all that much.

I've read a bunch of his books; it could go either way.

Maybe Brent can help!

But that wouldn't have been as humble-braggie!

If you want to try okra, yes. I would suggest cooking it*. *this has no resemblance to canned.
-
No, you don't know what okra is. Canned? Heat denatures things, you know, and canned is cooked.

Slime is the defining feature of okra, so I wonder if you know what okra is.

Wow, $899 is cheap. I guess I quit checking Newegg, a long time ago (I used to spend a lot of money there). I'm on my third HD-800, and I'm enjoying the fact that the paint isn't chipping. Did they finally fix the formula? is the HD-800S painted black, or is it bare plastic?

I found my Sistem51, today! It was resting between a piece of soft plastic and a velvet bag, in a drawer. There were marks on the case from both the velvet and the soft plastic. Swatch could have gone with a better grade of polymer, I think. Seiko makes a pretty amazing watch for a lot less money. :-/ Still, it's incredibly comfortable with a silicone strap, and now that the bezel dots have worn off, it might even be black enough for Dusty. I may keep it on for the rest of the week, though I'm not sure if it will survive a shower... Apparently it will! Not that I bathe or swim with watches very often, but I've been known to be insensate going to bed, and equally insensate getting up in the morning. The Reverso survives it no problem, though I've only "tested" that with the Shell Cordovan strap (one would hope that a Crocodile was waterproof, though).

I read that. I liked best how Mr. Shteyngart managed to humblebrag about how much money he makes per day as a writer!
-
I'm not 100% sure that is cromulent.

It's an amazing thickener, which would be great for stroganoff. Have you ever had tempura okra, Steve? Or the traditional blackened? Okra is also delicious stuffed with cheese and battered and deep-fried. Of course, an acorn would be delicious stuffed with cheese and battered and deep-fried.

I am using the laziest version of the "French mod" (cut a Shure foamie to fit and stick it in the middle) and it's great. I have heard no difference in sound beyond less tizz. Completely reversible. Hard to go wrong with it. Along with an amp that really grips them, I love the HD-800 now. My beloved vintage RS-1 gets almost no head time, now.

He is my sensei, so I can only hope to do him proud.
-
No, I don't think that's what you are mis-remembering.
-
I just looked at several early 2009 reviews, and they all mention $1400 as the price point. It's certainly what I remember them debuting at.

Honestly, I prefer an under-fill to an over-fill. I would love that, thanks man! I'm not expecting to be buying anything new myself, anytime soon. There is something nice about having one watch that does it all, though. My GMT Master was that for me for a long time.

Anybody need watch winders? I have two Pangaea quads and a Pangaea 6 watch winder that I'm not using. They are quiet and reliable; good Japanese motors, and lots of cycle adjustability. Two of them have small internal damage, as things fell from the drawer into the main body of the watch winder (my fault; I overloaded the drawers with straps and what-not), and you have to slightly break them to remove the drawer, but it's internal only, and doesn't effect function, unless you like shaking your watch winders over your head. Otherwise, small wear and tear as is to be expected of polished wooden pieces that lived on furniture in well trafficked parts of a home and which were touched on a daily basis. I have all of the original packaging. I'd be interested in selling two of the three. $150 + shipping for the quads and $200 + shipping for the 6 watch winder. I'll take offers.
