  1. Got out of jail. 6 months of bullshit over with.
  2. Stain clean up is easily resolved with a mattress cover. And agreed: the "durable" section suggests whomever made that hasn't had a good inner spring mattress. My mattress was $2500 on substantial sale 10 years ago, so maybe I just have a really good inner spring mattress. Several dozen people have slept on it since I got it, and they invariably say that it's incredibly comfortable, upon flopping on to it. I just realized that what I thought was just giving mattress advice turned into bragging. ?
  3. I've slept on most of the "internet" mattresses over the last few months. They mostly feel the same, to me (with the exception of a Puffy, which was very comfortable for sleeping). I'm still very happy with my 10 year old Sealy plush euro pillow top. It's halfway through its warranty period (not that I would expect it to be honored for anything, but it suggests that it was made for longevity), at this point, and hasn't changed much (I rotate it every 6 months or so). Any of the memory foam mattresses are relatively terrible for sex, if that is a consideration.
  4. I have experimented, since your post, and I'm still not sure how one fucks it up.
  5. I know how to put on a watch.
  6. It would be really nice on an Omega.
  7. I have a tegu lizard strap from the 1960s. It's a watch strap, and seems fine. Why would you pull hard on a watch strap?
  8. “Weakened” is certainly relative.
  9. I just wear shell straps. I expect them to last a long, long time.
  10. Keep in mind that Rolex isn't really a for-profit company, in the normal sense of the term. I prefer pin buckles anyway.
  11. Do you mean tool less? My GMT2c has micro adjust, but it requires a tool.
  12. A leather strap touching the head of a watch between the lugs is totally normal. It mostly means that it fits.
  13. Gl Pease Maltese Falcon that I jarred almost a decade ago. It’s very good.
  14. I know that 1675s have gone below 100m in actual use.
  15. The same Durbar in an ancient Parker that I refurbished.
  16. I think I'm having a mid-life crisis. Where the fuck am I supposed to be at 38 when I performed with a top-10 US orchestra when I was 17*? Nowhere good. I should buy a Porsche, I guess.. *not full time, but more than once.
  17. Oh, they definitely are. The GMT2c, for instance, has a thinner back than the Sub, which is why it is rated the way it is. The GMT2c will easily go as far as the sub is rated, and the Sub will go way, way further.
  18. Triplock on the GMT 2 definitely stands up to swimming. Unfortunately, my skin doesn't, even with sunscreen,
  19. Michael Collins is being interviewed on CNN. I put my pre-moon Speedy on.
  20. There is no need to unscrew the crown, just give the watch a few shakes. There is also no harm in unscrewing the crown over and over; the twinlock is very well engineered, precisely machined, and very durable. I do keep my automatics on a winder, but that's mostly because not all of mine have an easy date adjustment. That does look like a nice winder. I have Pangaeas (I'm using a four winder, at the moment, but I have others), which are well built, nearly silent, have excellent settings adjustment and look fine, but they don't look as nice as that one.
  21. They don't look similar, as HemiSam says, and if you like a strap over a bracelet, I think you could do a lot worse! That's Mr. Obama's watch of choice, I do believe, or very similar if not.
  22. I'm looking forward to seeing the strap on the OP.
  23. It doesn't have micro-adjust, unfortunately: it's the only thing I wish the watch had, but the links are small enough that you can get a very good fit.
  24. The only ones that I've tried that really work for me are Cartier's. Unfortunately, the leather is chromed, so I can't war it (and I haven't sent it off to my strap maker yet to see if he can reuse the end links to make me one in Shell Cordovan).
  25. Does this photo even need commentary?
