  1. Many thanks, I might not build this amp without what I have learned in this place
  2. Yes, I like the Bel Canto designs. This is a Hifi2000 Pesante box of 2U and I used the typical heatsinks of 63.5mm high with 5mm PCB spacers. I only made some low quality photos with my phone I mounted the power LED behind the icon
  3. One more KGSShv onboard that I made for a friend
  4. Hola Fernando
  5. Happy birthday!!!
  6. Delrin is a very good choice for this use, other option could be the iglidur bushings And if you want a option without electrical isolation, I think the Selfoil bushings (or any sintered bronze) are a good choice because are self lubricating.
  7. I think this link has a problem, I seen this error: "404 - File or directory not found The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable."
  8. This is an alternative place to download the designs of Dr. Kevin https://www.dropbox.com/sh/bnjrfqmusap75lo/AABdZuE8JhhamGOIhlImCTvSa?dl=0 I'll try to keep it updated.
  9. Happy Birthday John!!!
  10. Good point, many thanks.
  11. I think there is an error in the BOOM of this thread, in the "KGST-New" label the 3K5 resistor should be 1K5?
  12. Feliz CumpleaƱos!!

  14. I'm also interested in some 2SJ79 and 2SK216. -- o -- Rodrigo
  15. I'm in for board set. -- o -- Rodrigo
  16. Yes, it's a fault on their part, but they have no problem to do transformers with cable length you want if you tell them in the order the long of these leads, I ordered the last transformers with 40 cms long. -- o -- Rodrigo
  17. Congrats for your new amp, looks fantastic. -- o -- Rodrigo
  18. Before connecting a headphone for the first time I want to connect a dummy load to the amplifier and see how it works with the oscilloscope (I have a x100 probe) but I'm not sure what kind of component should I use. I suppose a capacitor of 100 or 120 pF could be worth? -- o -- Rodrigo
  19. Many thanks When I connected the board to the PSU, +15 v output dropped to 1.4v so clearly had an excess of consumption, only had to find a shorted component or with a very low resistance that was connected to +15 v line. I need some time to make the box because I want to try a different arrangement to which I have seen so far. My intention is to put a Alpha pot near inputs and make ventilation holes near the heatsinks because I use a 2U box. Not sure if I will be able to align the pot with the volume knob on the front, but I want to try -- o -- Rodrigo
  20. Yesterday I fired up the PCBs of a on board versiĆ³n (rev: 0.2) with good results IMHO (+441.5v, -442.1v, 571v of bias, 14.9v and -15.05v), only I had a little problem in the pcb of one channel, the led nearest of the balance pot not light, I revised this board and saw that 0.47uf/50v capacitor was defective (Mouser 810-FK16X7R1H474K), in fact, I bought more capacitors than I need and all are defective (only the capacitor of this batch used in the other board is fine !!!) The cap of this photo is new (unused), and the rest that I bought have similar values. I removed the defective capacitor and board adjusts balance and dc offset smoothly. -- o -- Rodrigo
  21. Congratulations George!! -- o -- Rodrigo
  22. Many thanks. -- o -- Rodrigo
  23. Amazing job Kerry. I bought some 2SA1968 (Lots 1E4 and 9G2) and I'm not sure if these sands are original. I think that the aspect is similar of the originals, I measured Vbr with a DY294 and all units are over 1000v, but the HFE is lower than 20 (14 to 17) and I've read in the datasheet that HFE is between 20 and 50. Are these low values of HFE normal, or these sands are fakes? -- o -- Rodrigo
  24. Ok, many thanks Kevin.
