  1. Well, he's not dead... Just a Reminder! Nick Lange sent you an invitation on Nov 28, 2008 to connect on Reunion.com. Do you know Nick? Yes No Tell us, and see if someone's searching for you! Reunion.com - Find Everyone from Your Past.™
  2. i'm working on one of these except it uses asynchronous USB (I'm assuming this one is adaptive mode since they don't specify) and will have RCA + optical output
  3. ^ how does something like that compare to a monitor intended for computer use?
  4. I would think the high output impedance of OTL tube amps would be the biggest reason
  5. KG actually has 2 GM cars. and that was after having a Jaguar -- quite an upgrade in quality
  6. I thought the Etymotic ER-4 were changed to all black with a braided cable. Was that just the P? Just got another S, they look like this: Here's an ER-4S with a braided cable The triple-flange tips are now gray. I guess that's so they dont show earwax as much (as shown in first pic)
  7. i may give them a try. hard to believe you can sell at 50% off for 2+ weeks and then just go back to the regular price
  8. are all sales final on those?
  9. i lost the etys a few months ago and needed to replace them. the livewires are a different thing
  10. Etymotic ER-4S...for the 3rd time... Samples of jacks from China for Billy

Project fact: The Project has more attenuation and better channel matching than an Alps RK50
  14. they're pieces of stabilized maple burl that are cnc milled and then hand sanded and lacquered. please tell me i can send the pieces to you for finishing on the next 4 im going to make.
  15. No, it was never listed on the site. I made 10 of them after Meier was able to get Sennheiser to make 25 more pairs of HE90. The design of the amp is similar to the HEV90 and Gilmore's original all-triode amp, using the same tube complement as the HEV90 and a regulated power supply. It was in 2 boxes, separate PSU (not shown). I have some more parts so I'll be making 4 more of them after the BHSE's are shipped.
  16. What do you mean? An all-tube electrostatic amp is one of the easier projects to do. Maybe only the all-tube "preamp" is easier.
  17. Mike I really doubt KG asked to attend the meet or is even interested in attending. If he had, I'm sure he would have been allowed. Of course he wouldn't be invited to the after party but i'm not sure that's what we're talking about
  18. maybe it was bought by another manufacturer like the last one for sale
  19. If all of the LODs used right angle plugs, it could solve the problem

Sounds like he needs a cryo dock and a Pico to remedy that hiss
  21. like this guy? I'm gonna need you to go ahead and build amps on Saturday
  22. I don't remember saying that. With Shure E530, it's not surprising you'd hear some slight hiss at high gain, but that's why there's low gain. I've never heard of any hiss with a GS-X (except maybe max volume at high gain) with any full size headphone which is why I suggested you send it to me. Only time I've ever had an issue like that was on a prototype GS-X module where the AKG K1000 was creating instability, but only when driven balanced, and it resulted in some hiss
  23. design by marketing is so much easier. you don't have to deal with these questions and the parts can be cheap -- all that matters is that it sounds amazing!
  24. Look what you did
  25. It would be better if they came with right-angle plugs, but that probably wouldn't sound as good because the electrons would be forced to make a hard turn so they'd have to slow down from the speed of light
