  1. i didnt buy the Marantz stuff, just seemed like good deals for a in-store open box. unfortunately Crutchfield is getting rid of it's outlet section in the store (they have 2 stores and one of them is here). Online returns end up in the outlet section, and as you can imagine, high-end stuff will languish there for years in my town. Which is why the prices can be quite low. they had HiFiMAN HE-500 on display (the headphones are right in the front of the store), quite a few sennheiser models, and a Grado SR-125 or 225. and of course, Beats. as for the LG 84" 4K TV -- i believe it is about $15,000. in a few years all TVs will be 4K except the entry level and so i'd expect a price of around 3k. but realistically maybe in 5 years not 2 years.
  2. A visit to the crutchfield store 84" LG 4k. Will pick up in 2 years for 20% price Marantz "Pie Amp" AV7005 - good deal? Power amp Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. i recently initiated a chargeback on 5,000pcs of 2SA1486 that I bought. i now have an order in for 5,000pcs of legitimate Renesas parts, 14 week wait unfortunately, the last time buy for 2SK216 and 2SJ79 was in December. at that time i already had 1,000 of each so i let it slip. now that it's gone, i suddenly want more..you can never have enough transistors.
  5. is it better to train at high cadence? i've found i prefer high resistance, lower RPMs for the same calories/hour at least when it comes to spin class for cardio

this sounds almost like business to business customer service
  8. the only positive to come of this is now air mail has delivery confirmation to canada ...and i just found out yesterday that Verizon charges me 50 cents/minute when I call Canada. OMG, the border!!
  9. the international rates are all up 30%, but they're still the cheapest way to ship international if you use air mail. no customers are going to pay the list rates these days for international shipping since shipping from the U.S. is so uncompetitive that i've downgraded to air mail. Priority intl is now a similar price to FedEx with a 55% discount which anyone with an account # can get. and Express Mail is now more than FedEx. i dropped off 30 Pico Powers on Monday, all international air mail. would have been $1590 in postage with express, $1230 with priority, and it was $450 air mail. so if a couple dont get there i'm still ahead of the game, this is the new way it has to be.
  10. the local office pulled the stunt where the line is to the door (mostly with idiots asking for 2 stamps or the person holding a bundle of items and doesnt own a roll of tape), so i attempt to leave my 2 pre-paid packages on the counter and am rebuffed as this is considered "target mail" apparently a fancy term for POSSIBLY A BOMB. get pissed, leave and call the main office where I usually drive out to drop stuff off. They inform me that its not allowed at ANY post office but they make an exception at their location. Go back in, wait in line for 20 minutes. Ask the guy when we'll be able to leave packages at the counter, he's instantly annoyed, says never - We have to make sure your packages are the weight it says on the label. Me: "At FedEx they just check it later and bill my credit card if its wrong". Him - "Well you can ship your packages by FedEx then." Me - "Well i would have spent the extra $10 to do so if i knew i had to wait" another thing i hate is the people who think the post office is socializing time so they start telling jokes when they get to the counter now i have to keep my eyes on the tracking to make sure they actually ship the items.
  11. got pissed at the local post office. im not sure who is worse, the people who work there or the people who run the USPS. what a dated organization.
