  1. but i can get one again. they're making more..
  2. "It sounds like your 14-foot ceiling came down to 8 feet" it's more like "It sounds like your 14-foot ceiling came down to 8 feet, while wearing headphones, and your eyes are closed"
  3. you probably could. measure a 9v battery and then check for shorts by measuring in parallel with the battery and see if your DC volt reading drops?
  4. well i was told by them that something BIG was coming out at CES, i did ask if it was bluetooth, they said no..so are these wireless bluetooth?
  5. wish i had screenshot what someone from the store Gramophone had posted in response to Audeze announcing the EL-8. something like "great, another headphone to demonstrate, too bad there aren't any customers"
  6. well the head-fi thread is a trainwreck. i don't know what the sense would be in discontinuing the HD800. what sennheiser needs, or rather is lacking, are headphones in the 2-5k range if it's worth it to them to sell a few thousand pairs.
  7. saw as low as $1.85 in Ohio. thanks Obama.
  8. it depends on the design of the amp if you will require 1 or 2 sections per channel. the RK50 is available in 2 sections (stereo) or 4 (balanced stereo)
  9. My JH13 wasnt as pretty inside as some other customs, but the JH16s have been great. never had any problems though some pairs probably get a lot more use than mine. the Westone ES5 is my other custom - doesn't sound as good as the JH13, but is still excellent in (personal) JH news, i just went to their facebook page for the first time in years and it was posted today that Jerry's daughter passed away. There will be a memorial on Monday in Orlando
  10. they said it wasnt an electrostat. keep in mind though that - they will lie to me if they're supposed to lie - this is just the word of a regional sales rep i wont believe anything until i see it. the 'new Orpheus' thing surfaces every year with people who supposedly saw it or heard about it, and then nothing.
  11. hey now...sennheiser told me that the big surprise is not a new momentum color and not a bluetooth headphone. but they said whatever it is it is big.
  12. I got in a Facebook argument a few years ago with a dumb woman commenting on a news article which said 16 people died in car accidents over Thsnksgiving, and 9 weren't wearing seatbelts. Her response: "See, it doesn't matter if you wear one, it's 50/50" [emoji14]alm:
  13. will be there
  14. i would assume the resale value of a digital album would be equal to the resale value of a used SD card i am an AK dealer, i just dont have the stuff listed on headamp.com right now
  15. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=pono+unboxing
  16. i'm sure one will show up on youtube. i put it on ebay for 499 and it sold quick. will re-buy if i need one for some reason
  17. my black pono came today. time for ebay maybe.. the packaging is awesome, though i always find the over the top use of recycled/"sustainable" materials to be ironic considering this device duplicates functionality that people already have it's a bamboo box with "pono" burned into the top and a lid that slides off. it's about the size of a coffin for a small rat. Underneath is the pono player and more bamboo pieces glued in place to support the player and charger.
  18. So 1 box = 1 ak240 blue note
  19. also make sure that there are no burrs left on the hole in the heatsink. i have seen them come from the factory that way.
  20. justin

  21. or you could test the device at each sample rate before shipping. but yeah, that would be a lot of work
  22. sure. any decent USB DAC is going to have a lower noise floor than your computer's headphone jack
  23. and i just donated to them today
  24. this is why me buying a 30" monitor was probably a mistake. it will be difficult to go down to 27", even if it is an increase in resolution. nobody seems to take 30" seriously anymore. actually, i'd go up to 32 or 35"..
