Wow, that's chilly. I am in Maine right now and I just checked and here at Old orchard is in the 50s tomorrow morning.

Seriously, the whole phone in your front pocket: The combination of pressures in this situation is not trivial. A complex lever, and as Nate mentions, the area is much larger and the pressure is mostly applied at the edges?
-
What would be really useful would be an ad-hoc calculation of how much force is generated by pants at the pocket area while sitting. It is a matter of ratios and levers. And of course whether an African swallow was carrying the phone or not...

I can stream from services like pandora, TuneIn, Spotify with great results either over WiFi or Mobile data. However, iTunes Radio is not working for me. It says to any station I've tried "Station Unavailable" Can't figure this one out. I booted the phone, still the same. I can play (stream) itunes music from the cloud no problem (my music), just the radio streaming part is not working.

so Dan, can you give me a few recommendations for armored cases? I keep seeing Otter Case mentioned. I see a few options on Amazon. I guess it'd be better to significantly add bulk than the alternative... [emoji14]

great counsel, offers thee. I would just add that if you can supplement your water with some calories as well as electrolytes ) Nuun only has electrolytes, right? For me the biggest challenge during CWC was to remind myself to eat every hour at the latest. But then by the end of the ride I could not stomach it anymore. Felt bloated. Maybe too much of high sugar food? Next time i am thinking of making some granola bars at home with honey. Good luck Chris! .....

I stopped the phone both at the local Costco the other day and played a bit with phablets. The note 2 and 3 are indeed quite large. I wanted to guesstimate if the phone would fit in one of the back pockets of a cycling jersey. It should not be an issue. The phone is quite large, but i think once you start using it.... .....

I am checking 6 status today. If they will be available significantly sooner i am changing the order. edit: No dice, they would have to cancel the order and then put a new one for that. So it would in fact be worst time wise. .....

O's vs NYY Rainy but not too bad .....

Yeah, it does look large in pics. The tmob rep said they will be shipping out starting 9/18 however apple's website says shipping out in a few weeks. So surely apple is on top of it regarding shipping estimates and the tmob rep was going by the 6 shipping estimates. .....

So, we are going with the 6+.

We definitely need new phones. I was holding until the new iphone was released to see what it brought to the table. However, for my wife, the been able to switch SIMs overseas would be pretty much a necessity. Otherwise, she'd have to carry 2 phones, which when luggage space/logistics are limited, could be an issue. So may have to think about the Galaxy S5....

Sorry, I mean, for instance, for someone that travels to central, south, Africa, let us say. I believe most provider companies there use regular SIMs. I checked the specs for iphone 6 and it says "nano-SIM"
-
does the iphone 6 uses micro sim or regular sim cards? If micro, my guess it is not the best option for switching sim cards for international use? edit: I meant SIM, not sd cards,

Ha, ha, that is wonderful, just what I suspected. For better or worse, I have a current plan. But it is a good cautionary advice. Thanks!

Question: Is there a difference in ordering the iphone directly from Apple as opposed to ordering it thru the service provider? I have an android that I got directly from T-mob . It has so much bloatware that I am a bit hesitant in getting any phone directly from them again. So basically the question is: Would T-mob add bloatware to the iphone?

Froome is one of the less visually appealing cyclists I've seen. Ever. The whole side to side head wobble is so distracting. .....

I have only done Craigslist. I've sold 2 bikes there, but it was answering to "wanted." My experience has been that selling higher priced items on CL is pretty slow. Good luck Chris!

WOW! Ben that is quite an achievement! You must be ready for a long night sleep. Well done! I agree, yesterday was pretty sticky hot-humid. I also remarked to Julie on the amount of people taking breaks lying on the grass. At some point I stopped by a yard sale that had a sign out by the street for cold water and soda. ha ha, pretty smart if you ask me. Let me tell you that coke felt sooo good after the monster hill following the first rest stop.

I have a great ride today too! Did my goal of riding the century course to the bail out point. I feel pretty good after the ride. It was challenging. 73.7 miles 7553 ft of climbing I didn't see Ben. But he texted me that he finished around 5:30. I am eagerly waiting to hear how was his ride. Weather got stormy on the afternoon. Huge thunderstorm with high winds. I have to say that just looking at the storm come rolling in from the distance up, from the mountains, was both scary and awesome. I was not very thrilled to be carrying a rolled up rain jacket in my jersey pocket, but let me tell you, when that storm rolled in, I was very glad I had it! I rode around 2 miles in the rain and then pulled over into a supermarket's building to wait for the storm to pass. I was very, very lucky that the storm came around in a favorable area to find shelter. It would have not been fun to deal with it on the open. It lasted about 45 mins then moved along and I picked it up again to the finish. I rode this saddle: LOL. Joking aside, I really find it comfy. After all, the padding is on the shorts! Something I got from Maine to celebrate!

Like the videos Ben. The ability to change batteries on the VIRB is a very nice option.
-
Cool Chris! Make sure to have the camera on next time you go around the area with the dogs I was able to go out yesterday for another nice ride. That is it before CWC.

Nice Colin. Glad to hear your friend is OK. I haven't done a ride in the rain this year. Hopefully the weather cooperates next weekend. .....
