  1. Looks like red-red-black-red-brown = 22K 1%. Ok. Still interested in other question though...
  2. Kevin/Birgir: do you have a pic to confirm this? Sure it's not the 62K resistor? I suppose either could work, just curious. Also any chance you know the voltage across R73 in the original? It's the 6.2K resistor at the base of the Darlington in the servo...
  3. I use track pad for PCB. I also use snap to grid and when needed manually enter coordinates so never need crazy precision with it.
  4. Read the Borbely "Frontier" articles.
  5. Sorry that was vague. The tobacco is pipe tobacco. I have nevertheless tried that. I am not sure that moisture content of tinned tobacco can be maintained by a 70% humidor? I guess we will see but currently it's still really dry. I pulled some out and put it in a zip lock with a wetted paper towel and after a day it was decent. I squeezed a tiny bit of water into the mix and rolled it around and then left it in open air an it smoked really well...
  6. I think all of them I have heard can be described that way. Perhaps better isn't the right word then, I would say more extension and detail for the KGSS and smooth and rolled-off for the BH.
  7. I think the BH does exceptionally better in the low end. I feel like the upper end is nicer with the KGSS though.
  8. Cool. I have some aged stuff but haven't figured best way to get it back up to moisture content. Seems to age better dried I think. Tonite a VSG
  9. Can you comment on the amplifier topology? Ya know the thing that actually makes the tube work and dictates how it works?
  10. What makes the chicken smart? I mean it is dead afterall...
  11. You tell them Ari!
  12. If there is any snow in MI when I get back I will be pissed. I left for 5 weeks hoping it would all melt, after all.
  13. I think I am getting to the same point. I can have two shots of espresso and go right to bed. After this cigar it took me a good 3 hours to finally sleep. They are petty good. I really like a number of the smaller cigars and I find that the higher wrapper to fill ratio is nice, though I mentioned this to some asshole cigar douche in London who tried to argue that this wasn't a factor at all. I find I also like my cigars a bit dryer that might be achievable in this climate as towards the end (especially the larger diameter) get all soggy and soft. The dryer seems to impart a certain spiciness I like.
  14. Bolivar Corona
  15. Gambled. Whoever thought water, coffee and Milo should be the only option at a casino needs to be shot. On the flip side, the vast number of baccarat tables unlike 2 tables on a good night in Vegas is nice. Also no double-zero roulette nonsense.
  16. Even the Chinese have standards...
  17. Fuckers. Or. Cunts.
  18. I can't believe you guys haven't seen the light with pluggable PCB connectors.
  19. Tapatalk seems to be down for me. Anyone else having problems?
  20. A few of these bad boys..
  21. Perhaps add a bit more rail capacitance and holes next to the power supply pads for probe points. I would also space the test point locations out a bit. Yeah there are probably lots of little things here and there.
  22. There is also an aesthetic concern. I like the legs to come straight off the devices and then have a single 90 degree bend. Going thicker means you won't have enough lead material to do this. You will also have to bend at the base of the transistor, if I recall. The concern doing this is arcing from the lead to the bracket edge if this angle becomes significant. You can avoid this by machining more off the edge, but then you don't get as good heat transfer between the device and the bracket as part of the case slug is exposed to free air.
  23. I love owing money for that very reason.
