  1. Fear the DOTU!
  2. The largest the RTX come in is 1uF/400v and are fairly big at this size, so unfortunately are a no go for my project. The advantages of DC Link is the size and footprint, so perhaps a bit of an unfair comparison.
  3. How is that possible! I thought silicon had lower distortion than vaccum state technology? Thankfully transistors require one to use a soldering iron to remove... Imagine if you could simply unplug them and use a different one? Such an incredible bar which prevents the depravities and proclivities of old age!
  4. I suppose I could do some comparisons...
  5. One can not generalize a tube's performance outside of its topology. Wikipedia is wrong.
  6. Definitely don't attempt to learn anything about circuit design in your later years. Once you realize how many ways you can building simple circuit elements and how these are "chosen" by designers, then you would probably be paralyzed completely.
  7. Ok. What if the topology offered in the BH is better than the KGSS? You would avoid it just because it has more perceived flexibility?
  8. Agreed. BJT > DMOS
  9. The advantage of canned air (I believe) is its typically ESD safe.
  10. I am considering moving around in 2015. It would be a bit of a career ladder killer, but something I am getting more and more convinced that the time is right... I have a call next week with our President to discuss some options and not sure what to ask for, so thinking a lot about that tonite..
  11. The new Wima DCP4 seems to be quite impressive and fit the bill. Anyone tried these?
  12. Any recommendations on a very compact 47uF/400v (-ish) film capacitor? Smaller the better.
  13. Do you have a significant DC component to your line voltage?
  14. Yeah, this is definitely the right idea.
  15. Cohiba Lanceros
  16. I though Santa could warp the space-time continuum. Seems reasonable to me, assuming the sleigh is involved.
  17. Like, on the bottom side? You only have yourself to blame for that
  18. Are you using the stock PQ settings? It can get quite better if you decide to get it calibrated.
  19. Wait, there's a new Cavalli amp?
  20. That's why they make the Quatro wood. Easily one of the best speakers I have ever heard and one of the few that has "engineering" that is worth paying for.
  21. You might like Haratio Hornblower then.
