  1. It's done in the digital domain.
  2. Any mechanical noise with the SSR? I have given up on them in larger (>=300VA) designs completely. They really don't like inductive loads, best I can tell.
  3. EF184, or similar? Edit: ah LOW .. Ok, nm, can't read.
  4. I would argue if you matter to the company, they will make it work. If I were you and truly believed what you just stated, I would find another job. For example, if you are able to complete a project in 75% of the time if you could take the last 25% off, both sides win. Many people work to their work done early for the holidays and took off 5-6 weeks. I think another factor is that in tech many people are tied to equity in a manner that is really obvious. If you do well, then the stock price goes up and so does their total compensation. Regardless, plenty of ink spilled on the topic (definitely worth searching around, though some opinions such as those at Virgin seem a bit utopic) and it's becoming more common for sure. If I was in a position such as Reks it's something I would seek out.
  5. Working at a company with an unlimited PTO policy and managing employees that have taken off considerably more time than a few weeks, I would have to disagree.
  6. Many tech companies have "unlimited PTO" policies... What that translates to in actuality might depend, but likely still a lot better than most places.
  7. We will see.
  8. Mmm Spec's.
  9. My ass had an encounter with something in length that would make Tice blush. Fortunately I don't remember any of it, so there is that. I don't get to see the Dr until next year, seems anti-climatic a bit m.
  10. I am a big macports / homebrew user, perhaps you should investigate that Shelly.
  11. Does XQuartz work okay with Yosemite? That has been one of my hesitations to upgrade...
  12. Looks like you branched out a bit!
  13. I would probably throw in a cookie though, if I was buying used.
  14. Pretty bummed as I just got in some parts and realized that instead of ordering 6 noval tube sockets I ordered 7 pin sockets this was a while ago (CMC ceramic) so can't return them. Anyone need a bunch of 7-pin sockets? I can do sub-China prices

    Canjam 2010.

Ew. I am assuming no double entendres and applying brain bleach appropriately.
  18. edit: +n't
  19. I am not sure it would. In the BH I can say it sounds much better to my ears* but didn't really measure any different. Edit: compared to the CCS that the BHSE uses. I still prefer the original CCS.
  20. Fear the DOTU!
  21. The largest the RTX come in is 1uF/400v and are fairly big at this size, so unfortunately are a no go for my project. The advantages of DC Link is the size and footprint, so perhaps a bit of an unfair comparison.
  22. How is that possible! I thought silicon had lower distortion than vaccum state technology? Thankfully transistors require one to use a soldering iron to remove... Imagine if you could simply unplug them and use a different one? Such an incredible bar which prevents the depravities and proclivities of old age!
  23. I suppose I could do some comparisons...
  24. One can not generalize a tube's performance outside of its topology. Wikipedia is wrong.
  25. Definitely don't attempt to learn anything about circuit design in your later years. Once you realize how many ways you can building simple circuit elements and how these are "chosen" by designers, then you would probably be paralyzed completely.
