  1. /me goes off to research
  2. Where is mypasswordis when you need him?
  3. The same, though I am not sure if that's a real question.
  4. The butterfly clasp is a bit annoying, only one side separates when I press the button and I have to pry with my fingernail to get the other side out. I guess I am too lazy for that.
  5. Would you suggest using the Omega pin on the quasi-slotted Brady, or using the Brady slotted tongue on the Omega buckle, or . . .
  6. I decided on three straps that add up to what I would have paid for the Hirsch: the Brady, a Nato with yellow edging and a Hadley Roma rubber strap with yellow accents. Also ordered some of my favorite matches and a bike rack top tube adapter, all in the span of like 5 minutes, on my phone. Consumerism at its finest.
  7. Yeah that is exactly what I have experienced. So, smallest trimmer with small parallel resistor.
  8. No, it would be something like nearest E96 resistor in series and adjustment at a minimum of that resistor (minus tolerance, assume 1%) and the next available E96 (plus tolerance).
  9. I have a really really dumb question. I would like to get as many turns of a trimmer over as small as a range as possible. For example, 25 turns over 1 ohm. What's the best strategy to do this, a series resistance to set the approximate value, then a resistor in parallel with a pot I assume, but how to size the pot (large or small) and the resistor, without having to do math is the question?
  10. It just needs more current to start working, if I recall.
  11. Now, for some advice! Looking for another strap, what do you guys think about the Hirsch Robby: ... specifically, which buckle option do you prefer? I like the yellow contrast stitching, but would consider other options as well. I've also seen some interesting "nylon" woven bands, but not sure what they are called. They look like very thick threaded, synthetic thread, more more "bulky" looking than a typical Nato. I'm not sure the name exactly. I always felt that Natos were just a bit "thin" feeling, the ones I had in the past were Maratec branded. Also, I saw that the new Bond version of this watch has a nice strap included, which looks like sailcloth with an Omega deployant: That would be cool, if I could score that. Any idea the part number at Ofrei for that Omega deployant?
  12. Love that drive!
  13. Punch Punch
  14. They decided to sell me one from their warrantee stash. Excellent! I think I might even put a pair of salvaged caps as PSU bypass for fun.
  15. One off all-time favorite LPs, in a more expensive, quasi-audiophile format
  16. (Not Greek, it's Russian I know... Sue me)
  17. Seems an iconic segue would be appropriate
  18. Seems they sell pairs only? It's better than nothing though, thanks!
  19. Any chance someone could help me source a single V-Cap TFTF 0.1uF / 600v? It seems these will no longer be made. Used is fine.
  20. How much gain (if any) do you need?
  21. Is the via above the left hand current source too close to the bracket, considering its on the top of the board?
  22. Or just add a trimmer to the circuit. There is a good diagram in the "Impasse Preamp" AX article which is now online.
  23. About a year and a half old, no hints of ammonia out gassing, but really they need more time to age. Also I think they need lower humidity to thrive .
