  1. er, maybe... I would stay safe with the 560v that Sennheiser recommends. What amp will you be bringing, perhaps the bias is adjustable?
  2. nope
  3. no problem! I'm assuming that the "yes" means you tried it and it worked, not that it has the outputs and you're going to buy some interconnects to see if it might work?
  4. can you whistle and hum at the same time and control the two pitches individually?
  5. Elementary my dear Watson... Can you run an unbalanced output from the PCA-2 to the subwoofer?
  6. I'm posting in this thread as I have some comparisons to this player from listening to Al's at the DFW meet. However, I have a quick question for the peanut gallery: "Has anyone heard any of Muse Electronics players?" http://www.museelectronics.com/
  7. read my suggestion more carefully
  8. try unplugging one of the PCA-2's balanced outputs
  9. does it do this if you put your hand on the metal chassis?
  10. what are spambots, are those like head-fi n00bs?
  11. What, is it Icelandic new-year or something?
  12. If you don't like the KGBH, then I don't think you'll like the KGBH SE, from what I know of the "upgrades". From what I understand the new amp, dubbed the KGST will have less power than the BH, in which case, I wouldn't hold out hopes for this combination either with the SR-007. The direction needs to be more class A, more power, more heat. Let's not go down this rabbit-hole here at head-case. No, this isn't a concession or agreement with the above line of logic, in fact it's the opposite.
  13. also, I think there is a 50, 60, and 110 ohm aes/ebu, so I'd look into that as well. I could of course be totally wrong, and probably googling myself would save me public embarrassment, but I'm lazy this morning.
  14. really? I was thinking dual mono as well, due to the indirectly heated GM70s...
  15. they're very tiny google "aes/ebu transformer"...
  16. all AES/EBU requires is a suitable transformer added on to the digital signal, so this should be possible.
  17. I sold my Delta transport for $250 and it had an AES/EBU connector. Had an option for ST glass as well, though my particular unit didn't have this option.
  18. M^3, PPAv2, etc.
  19. I've contacted him a number of times. Our conversations go something like this: Me: "can I buy some of those Stax jacks from you?" Him: "Nope, do you want an amp?" Me: "no, what about 25 jacks?" Him: "No, they're custom made for us. If you buy an amp." Me: "huh? that didn't make any sense. You mean I can get some jacks if I buy an amp?" Him: <no reply> Him: "Are you still interested in the amp?"
  20. net $250?
  21. well, there's the Koss ESP-950 that you can get under $300 and then I'd guess you could build a decent solid state amp for $400. time? well, that's the hard part.
  22. nate: If you're looking for some more affordable projects, just let me know There are a number out there. I won't post them to tempt you. Fing: I'd consider the Illusion ESC-1001:
  23. then I should add that I heard that *exact* combination
  24. enjoy the KGSS and SR-007! I listened to this combination at length and it sounds pretty good. My biggest complaint is I wished things were more forward. The combination is very good at intimate musical settings without a lot of dynamic contrast, as then you can crank the volume a bit more and even this out.
