  1. Guess what I will be working on this week...
  2. So, the A-Maze-N was a bit of a fail. I left the pellets outside not really thinking about it and I think they absorbed water. They just wouldn’t stay smoking. Things turned out well enough despite no smoke flavor. Today, I did three different quick pickle variants and just got them in the fridge:
  3. Looks like the BF862 is finally seeing its demise. It was labeled EOL a while back and now the part hoarders are sucking them dry. There are a few left at Newark, so I ordered some. Good parts for MC phono-stage input, which was my use. You can also parallel them a get a good 2SK170 replacement - folks even made boards to stick four of them together.
  4. Put two pork shoulders in a Trader Joe’s Spiced Apple Cider brine. Going to start early in the morning. Will be using the mazed-shaped Amazin for longer smoke production. Will provide pics!
  5. I have been curious about their cans. Seems a bit spendy though.
  6. Typically soldier paste takes much more hot air to flow the second time around... or it feels like it does.
  7. Yeah. It would have user settable resistors, or I can add them before shipping them if you ask real nice
  8. Chris, interestingly, the drain and source of the Toshibas JFETs are interchangeable. I have exploited this to clean up some layouts. Just a fun fact, not useful here
  9. Probably 50 of each.@Kerry, can you generate the pick-and-place coordinate file, or e-mail me the Diptrace files? I will get some quotes.
  10. I would consider doing an assembled run of these, but we would need a decent amount of interest.
  11. Anyone have any 2SJ74GR they would be willing to trade? I can provide BL or V matched sets in exchange. Ideally, I could get around 50 of these. Also, for those that have secret transistor sources, I would like some more 2SJ313/2SK2014 if you see them around.
  12. Inverse RIAA filter (have some extra PCBs, if anyone is interested)
  13. Just Vf - it’s a voltage reference.
  14. I think there is a place for something like this, but for me it would be an active crossover which would have a lot more flexibility.
  15. Thanks. So, the trade value is a good bit less than that, say $200. Ok; will do some thinking
  16. They would be part of a trade deal, so having to put a price on them. What would you expect for example a Samaroli Caol Ila 1998 Vintage (“Singles Collection") to go for? I could use that to tease out the street value of the rum. I haven’t tried any non HC Cuban rums, both Samaroli and Cadenhead seem to have some.
  17. Mikey, any experience with the Samaroli rum series?
  18. The AppleTV update is similarly fun. Posting, or un-posting?
  19. Re-reflowing a part is very hard. Sadly, I have thrown out more than a few of those same regulator packages. Once the board isn’t completely flat it’s very hard to get things rectified.
  20. I will defend this one as I do it a lot. Picking JFETs that don’t need degeneration is optimal. It’s done in more than one commercial design as well, such as the First Watt J2. Now, the other shit I can’t defend
  21. Not exactly sure. He said it real quick in passing. I should investigate!
  22. Actually; the new production Silmics are crap. As mentioned by Wayne at Burning Amp this year
  23. I am using 2SJ106/2SK208, BCM61/BCM62, PHPT610030-series. The 2SJ106 is the SMT version of the 2SJ103. The 2SK208 is the SMT version of 2SK246.
  24. I did fix the silk screen on the new ones
