  1. alert!! a travesty is about to occur. I will have both opamps and a chipamp in my main rig soon! Blasphemy! Nevermind they are for turntable motor controllers (one DC and one AC, yes I'm insane), this is an outrage! I can hardly hit the "buy" button at 41hz.com.
  2. thanks, I'm happy now Where's ? edit: d'oh! it's there!
  3. +1 otherwise, I'll just check a few threads here and there and it's much harder to be involved in the site.

  7. $100 each was going rate about 3-4 years ago
  8. none with double crowns. I compiled a list of units that are known to ship with these oddities and none can be had for less than a few grand. My strategy is to find ungraded chips that test well, or ungraded chips with the same batch numbers as those that S2 chips came from. The latter strategy is playing out well for me, as I don't have the equipment to pursue the former. Also, I have around 50 TDA1543/TDA1543A and have been just randomly plugging them in and listening and there are some that sound better than others. Remember, these chips were never graded at all.
  9. can't you use use your trunk? Elephants seem very dexterous with their trunks....
  10. they're not even socketed, which is crazy...
  11. I like the cute little crowns and blue cylinders with the cute stripes on them
  12. seems worth what they are asking...
  13. not as pretty as Spritzer's. You loose. Does anyone mod these DACs? Seems like it would be an interesting experiment (for someone, not me)...
  14. that's some primo stuff man...
  15. the original SR-007
  16. congrats man!
  17. this project has so much "fail" potential, given the "questions" asked... just use rechargeable batteries and be done with it.
  18. try the cheapest spades that Kimber Kable makes, as Vandersteen speakers historically have the same issues and I've found that these fit very nicely into the narrow barrier strips.
  19. look who's here howdy!
  20. hey, can you use the mylar tape with that platter if you ride it up above the string grooves?
  21. yes, if by extreme you mean fire and smoke.
  22. 1 part BBQ sauce, 1 part grape jelly. Simmer and stir on the stove, serve warm.

  24. I couldn't build that for $800...
