That depends on whether or not you define rum as a molasses product. If not, and you are interested in the origins of the word, I'd suggest it was invented by the Malay people, who called it brum and would predate Barbados. It was made from sugarcane juice.

Likely this is going to be very subjective. I'm not sure we have even heard comparisons between the KGSSHV and KGSS in audio-fool terms yet. The other question would be device longevity and how much the on-board version pushes the envelope in terms of die temperature. Isolated packages have a higher thermal resistance than their non-isolated counterparts, so if someone has build this without using the isolated parts, they should expect (slightly?) higher die temperatures with this version, depending how the non isolated parts were mounted.

That or a separate board like Justin did, but that makes less sense for a solid state amp. I'm not sure what to recommend, other than try it. I've looked long at a lot of the device clip mounting methods (which still requires a 1:1 ratio of holes to devices) but you could look into a single long bar that applies pressure to all of the devices at once. You could even mill detents into the bar to align the devices. Again, doesn't solve the location issue, but might make it easier to build.

I can say from personal experience that you get increased effective thermal resistance with heat sources that close to a free air edge. Don't know how it works, but it clearly does. Yes, the bottom orientation is better, but either way you wont make full use of that extrusion.

Kevin, I assume the hole spacing for the various output devices is that of the T2, not the previous spacing of the Dynahi boards (weren't these different?)?
