  1. Gran Classico Negroni Man, this is fantastic. Each ingredient was the perfect choice. On a side note, I'm down to only 2 sweet vermouths and 4 dry vermouths!
  2. I'm pretty sure you were kidding, but this isn't a very good idea on very many levels. If you do decide to do it, get a toaster oven from salvation army or such, as you're not going to be able to really use it for food thenceforth, due to the stuff that's released from the board and then "seasons" the oven...
  3. Rhum Old Fashioned
  4. For science!!
  5. Sweet! Did you notice that the blanco and Reposado are the same price? That's a little strange. I had some Partida Reposado at a bar today. It's pretty good, but initial taste says the Casa Noble is better. I will likely try the Anejo though.
  6. Those look like Toshiba devices.
  7. Eighteenth Cocktail (Savoy Stomp Blog) 2 oz Rye 3/4 oz Dolin Blanc 1/2 oz Gran Classico Bitter 1 barspoon Luxardo Maraschino Stir with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Squeeze lemon peel over glass and drop in. Fantastic!!!!!!
  8. For future reference. Espolon. Yes.
  9. It's one of my few drinks left in "Forgotten". I've ordered it twice online from two places, both never sent it (or it got intercepted somehow).
  10. So, I have another one. I wish I had an anjeo tequila to try in this one, but as is it's tasty. Not sure on the bitter choice, but I don't have a lot to choose from. Definitely needs Jim or Al or anyone else to take a stab at it. (no name, but a Spanish twist on Monte Carlo would work) 2 oz tequila 1/2 oz Benedictine 2 dashes Peychauds 2 dashes grapefruit bitters Stir!
  11. Nice Stretch! Where's my Kola Tonic? I wanna visit, but just read Nate's post
  12. So, I'm very excited and the opportunity to host something for HC. I am in the perfect location with respect to the track location and the airport, meaning that we will run into very little traffic en-route. Unfortunately, I'm not close to much else That being said, we just need to plan accordingly. I have plenty of room and can easily house 20 or so people I'd think. All that I really require is convincing my wife that this is a good idea, whether that means a hotel for her and the kids, or a maid service afterwards On thing that would be helpful to know, even though we're a while off from this would be how long would people consider staying? What's the event schedule look like? I'd recommend at least one night downtown. Other options are Lockhart, the lake, brewery/distillery tours, etc.
  13. Yummy, good stuff that Kentucky vodka is. Time for a Vesper!
  14. Still my number one issue...
  15. Manhattan involving Carpano and Rittenhouse 25.
  16. So, I'm looking for a part recommendation. I used to be able to find a certain brand 0.25" QC female connector that had an insulated outside that I could pull off (usually by putting the female part on a male stud and pulling real quick), then I could solder the wire to the connector (not crimp) then put the outside part back on. These days, none of the ones I've found will allow the outside to be as easily removed. Anyone have a good part they use? Perhaps the better idea is to just heat shrink a bare connector? The connector will be carrying mains voltages, at about 3A.
  17. Gran Classico?
  18. Nice Al! The Chinato can be found around here now, it's not cheap though. It has a very distinct flavor, very nice stuff. Looks like yours is a split though, which is better than the $75/1L here is suppose.
  19. It doesn't have an overly distinct Reposado flavor. It has a more mellow almost fruity flavor? Regardless I'm happy with it
  20. Margarita First impressions of the Espolon are very positive, considering the low price tag.
  21. Went out to buy a $60 bottle of Tequila and came back with a $18 bottle. More at 8.
  22. How does the frequency response sound? Flat? Or a upper mid range and midbass double peak?
  23. any idea if this is ESD damage?
  24. Do you have any that I sold you? I still have a whole mess of these and they all work fine. Anyone interested in paying $10 each? :)
  25. It won't take long. I bet you'll find some once all of these T2 start getting built. I give you until the end of the year.
